The absolute best tasting sardines in olive oil ever - bar none !!! Great value
Wild Planet sardines are the best budget friendly sardines on the market and is a stiff competitor to brands costing 4 times as much. - these are packed in extra virgin Olive Oil, solid whole fish with skin & bone making them even more healthy . The skin adds even more Omega 3's and the bones are undetectable, adding additional calcium. They are about 200 calories, and offer 20 grams pure protein with no carbs ! The best part is that they are simply delicious with a lightly smoked flavor and smooth tasty olive oil- No matter if you are eating them for health, diet,or just plain enjoyment - these are the absolute best I've had, I've eaten Wild Planet sardines for years and can definitely say they are the best I've had, including the brands that cost 4 times as much ... never a disappointment in the hundreds of cans I've had - ever !

Tastes good, good for you, good for the ocean
Three main reasons why I chose and recommend Wild Planet sardines: 1) Tastes good! I am not exaggerating when I say that Wild Planet sardines tastes way better than other brands that I have tried so far. I am a sardine fan, and I have tried a lot of other brands. Wild Planet sardines are very firm and meaty, slightly smoky, juicy and delicious. The sardines are very well cleaned and scale free. 2) Good for your general health. a) No BPA( Bisphenol A) used as lining inside the cans. Recently there has been lot of concerns about BPA leeching into food that many companies have switched to BPA free plastics and BPA free cans. Wild Planet is one of them. For concerns about the effects of BPA,see an article on this link. http://www.webmd.com/children/environmental-exposure-head2toe/bpa b) This is a nutritionally dense food. I would go as far as considering sardines as a "superfood". These are some numbers to give you an idea of how nutritious a can of Wild Planet sardines is. Please note that all these values are PER CAN because I usually eat a whole can(4.375oz) at a time. One serving size is listed on the can as 2 oz/serving, totaling about 2.5 servings/ can. In all seriousness, I don't know of anyone that would really open a can of sardines this size, measure out 2 oz to eat, so here it goes. -- Excellent source of protein -25g /can -- Excellent source of Omega 3 that you can EAT instead of taking pills. Each can contains 313mg EPA Omega 3 and 688mg DHA Omega 3. This is comparable to 2 soft gels of Amazon's best-selling omega 3 nutritional supplements: Nordic Naturals - Ultimate Omega, 1000 mg, 180 softgels But why take it in pill form when you can eat as part of one of your meals with all the added extra nutrients right? -- Excellent source of Calcium - over 50 % Daily Value per can.( compare that to a serving of 8oz of 2% milk which on average has about 30% Calcium in it) -- Excellent source of Vitamin B12 (over 100% DV), and Vitamin D(over 100%DV). -- Good source of Iron (over 25%DV)and Selenium (over 50%DV) and -- Also, as a bonus, contains Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), a nutrient found in the body cells and believed to have an antioxidant and immune system boosting properties. 3) Good for the Ocean I have been trying to be more responsible with my food choices. I try to eat seasonal, local and organic whenever possible. And as far as seafood, although a little bit more expensive, I try to get them "wild caught" whenever I can. However, recently I discovered that it is not enough for something to be "wild caught". Two other factors are also important. --HOW THEY ARE CAUGHT. Some of the things I have learned are indeed eye opening, and really help me be more aware and environmentally responsible as a consumer on what and where to purchase my seafood products if I really care about protecting the oceans. Wild Planet uses "free school" purse seine method which means NO FADs (Fish Aggregating Devices) are used. Please see this video about FAD and why they are devastating for the ocean in destroying diversity of species. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVbp7PijR6Y --WHERE THEY ARE CAUGHT This second factor is just as important because because in certain areas, combined with unsustainable methods of fishing such as one described above, there are major concerns of overfishing to the brink of certain species of fish becoming extinct in that particular area. According SeafoodWatch, Pacific sardines are rated "Best Choice" compared to Atlantic or Mediterranean sardines because there's little bycatch and low habitat impacts. http://www.seafoodwatch.org/seafood-recommendations/groups/sardine?q=Sardine Wild Planet is in compliance with the green standards of Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch, Blue Ocean Institute, Ocean Wise, Sea Choice and Fishwise. Greenpeace has also evaluated Wild Planet tuna products and has rated them as a top brand for sustainable sourcing policies. - See more at: http://www.wildplanetfoods.com/thewild-way/on-the-boat/#sthash.0pWGQHzI.dpuf To wrap up, I love these sardines by Wild Planet. The fact that the company is very environmentally conscientious makes me love the product even more. I am currently on my second case ordered through Amazon's convenient sub and save. Compared to buying at grocery stores (if they even carry them), the price on Amazon is very good. The ones I saw at a Whole Food Market in my town was priced at $3.29/ can. So, tastes good, good for you, good for the ocean and not to mention good price here, what more could you ask for?

Great taste and nutrients dense.
This is my obsession. It's hard to get these days, but it's provide your body with nessessary OMEGA’s. I like this specific brand because of the taste and calories balance. I like to add some Sriracha for the kick. My go to snack or lunch ideas

Good quality
Based on the ingredients, it is a good quality product. Taste good and texture is also right. The only issue I am having is can-opening experience. As soon as I open the can, the oil just got out of can very quick and sometimes I have to clean the mess.

Quite good, even compared to more expensive Sardines
Pretty darn good! I had no idea that I even liked sardines, until a friend gave me a tin of Nora sardines. I then ordered 8 of those. They are quite good, but about twice the price of these, so I figured I’d give these a shot. I ordered a case of 12, and I’m quite happy that I did. I just tried the first tin, and I must say, these are delish. The only noticeable difference is that the oil in these is quite watery. I would describe it as a mix of oil and water, perhaps only 10% oil, whereas the Nora are in ~ 90% oil, it is much thicker. They say they are lightly smoked. I would say very lightly, I did not notice a smoke flavor. For the price difference, I can eat twice as many of the Wild Planet Sardines. And I think that I will do just that!

Not what I expected
Reviews stated how good these are compared to other brands, but it’s a perception I do not agree with. I was brought up eating Beach Cliff tinned sardines thanks to my grandfather who would often bring them home in his lunchbox along with saltine crackers, to share with me. I grew up loving the fishy little treats. As an adult I forgot about them until I was in my mid 50s when I began to crave them. I’ve purchased several varieties since then. Packed in oil or water, with and without skins and bones. Amazon reviews prompted me to order these so I did. I’m realizing Amazon reviews are not a reliable resource as lately I’ve been disappointed. These are one of those. The tins are smaller than average. Inside are 3 sardines and a lot of oil. I found the flavor to be more of the oil not the fish. They are firm, with skin but appear boneless. The flavor is not what I expected, way too oily and smelly but not tasty. It proves to me price is not an indicator of quality. Disappointing.

Best Brand in the market
I did a lot of research on the benefits of eating Sardines and this brand came on top. The product is first rate very tasty. Sardines is one of the best foods out there , very underrated but excellent for your health. Do not waste your money on cheap brands , Wild Planet Sardines are the best. Go and buy this brand.

Excelente compra
Excelente sabor de la sardina, no es fuerte, es ligero, para mi gusto está perfecta, ya que las sardinas con sabor fuerte no las toleraba. Las volveré a comprar. Me llegaron perfectas y muy rápido.
