A good antacid that works without compromising your long term health.
A big 600ml bottle of Gaviscon. Perfect for keeping by the bed. I personally prefer the standard Gaviscon to the double action variety. Yes, it can take longer to work, but as the Double Action Gaviscon neutralises the acid in your stomach, as well as putting a barrier on the top, your body can no longer extract the same quantity of nutrients from your food. This is particularly important if you are ill or an athlete, as one of the main issues will be the lack of protein digestion. In the long term, taking the stomach acid neutralisers (and I include Proton Pump Inhibitors in this category as well), is to be discouraged, as your body is constantly trying to compensate, by producing more and more stomach acid. Much better, to try to cope with just using barrier antacids such as this Gaviscon original. For this reason I always take the standard when I'm at home. I do take some Double Action sachets with me when I'm out, but they really are only for emergencies. The sodium content is quite high, so, do be aware if you are on a medically indicated, reduced sodium diet. Overall, this is a good antacid liquid. It has a pleasant peppermint flavour, it contains no sugar, so is suitable to have after cleaning your teeth. As it doesn't neutralise your stomach acid, only 'cap' it, it is healthier in the long term. Recommended. I hope you found this review helpful.

Not much to say here. It works. Heart burn or indigestion. In home late with a belly full of beer and curry - take a swig of this banger before bed for easy nights sleep!

Best Antacid
Longtime user of gaviscon peppermint. Really good flavour and so much nicer than the original anaseed version. Relieves my heartburn immediately and I can lie down straight away if I’m heading to bed. This item was on offer in the main supermarket and Amazon was cheaper by over £2 even after the supermarket discount. Stocked up for Christmas and expected overindulgence 😁
