I've been using the MAG Z790 for just under a year now and I've been very happy with it without any issues. I'm not technical and you'll find other reviews providing a better technical insight but I did do a lot of research into gaming motherboards within this price point. I found that MSI came on top of other similar well known brands for it's balance of performance and features. The MSI build quality is very good, looks good, and easy to setup. I've pared mine with the following and it runs like a dream. - Intel 14700K CPU - MSI GTX 4080 super - Samsung 980 pro 2GB m.2 - CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 - Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS I have had no issues so far with MAG Z790 motherboard and would highly recommend it. I would also recommend to anyone building their new rig to do research based on other reviews and comparing specs.

I haven't built this PC yet, waiting on parts. Im solely going by appearance and feel, Will update once all parts are in and been running with perf specs. This is my first board of this calibre, going from an asus tuf pro gaming z370 to this is like going from a 99 civic to an Aston Martin and thats evident in every aspect of this board. The build quality is superb, if I were to guess, this thing is like 2-4 pounds. I got It to go with an i9-14900k, as that cpu needs an enthusiast grade board and just from looking at it, you can tell it can handle whatever components you choose, even the KS, Id venture to say. it supports 14th gen, as stated on MSI's website, but not here, however I have confirmed it does. This requires a bios flash, so If you dont have a 13/12th gen to do it via bios menus, It allows you to flash the bios without any components installed except the power supply, for obvious reasons, using a dedicated flash button and included flash drive in box. (Id advise watching a tutorial as this process is capable of bricking the board if it loses power or done incorrectly/interrupted) Amazing quality and feature set for the price! As an avid overclocker, this board is a dream.

Great motherboard. Has everything you need to a workstation or high end build. The build quality is really good as with a lot of MSI products. I've previously owned an MSI laptop which I had for 4 years. The laptop has been through a lot and throughout those 4 years it kept running well. When I got the Meg Z790 ace straight away you can tell its well built. In terms of connectivity it has a gen 5 nvme slot which the Rog Maxiums (the other motherboard I was considering) doesn't have. It has all the ports and everything I needed so it was a clear choice. The only downside of this motherboard is the CPU socket is a tiny bit too close to the IO panel so i cant fit another fan on the other side of the cooler. It still cools well. I don't much thermal throttleing. Of course this wouldn't be an issue with water cooling but I've built mine with an Air Cooler. Overall a 5 star motherboard. Has all the ports, connections and build quality for a high end rig.

This is a good motherboard, lots of features, ports, connectivity etc. It's working really well in the PC I just built. But two things to be aware of. Firstly, if you are building a new PC and installing Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, (not sure about other versions), the ethernet and wifi won't initially work. There is a CD supplied with the board which will probably fix this, but my new PC doesn't have an optical drive. So you need to go to the MSI web site using another PC, download the driver on to a USB stick, then install from the USB stick on your new PC. Once you have done this, the internet will work and MSI will automatically fix all the other drivers for you. The only other negative is that there is an MSI Center task automatically installed, which gives you pages and pages of an agreement and asks you to accept the licence conditions. I did this three times and it still popped up on every boot up. In the end I used Task Manager to disable it completely. So in conclusion, it's a very nice board, loads of features, supported the processor and DDR that I wanted, but it could have been an easier installation. So 4 stars out of 5.

I decided to build PC for the first time in my life and my choice fell on this board. In addition to the board, I also found a flash drive, WI-FI Antenna, stickers and 2 SATA Cables in the box . This board has a robust build quality and elegant design. In this motherboard are 4 m2 and 7 SATA slots, into which you can connect as many drives as you need. Built-in wireless network provides fast internet connection and great online gaming experience. The BIOS is intuitive, which everyone can understand . Another huge plus of this board is Flash BIOS Button. With this button you can easily update BIOS without entering the BIOS or operation system. It will be very useful if you have processor that is not supported by your motherboard. Overall, I highly recommend this board, it will be the best choice if you will build a powerful PC and need high-performance motherboard with a lot of useful functions.

Call me a dweeb, but I like a good looking motherboard, and this one looks great! But looks are worth nothing if the item itself underperforms, well, thankfully, not only is this board droolworthy in the aesthetics department but it also, so far, performs extremely well too. Nice and easy to fit, although it's *very* heavy so be careful lowering it into your chosen E-ATX case. As with most high-end boards nowadays, all the fiddly bits, chips, capacitors, wire lines, are shielded by plates which presumably helps with heat dispersion but also has the added benefit of providing welcome protection from unplanned drops of the screwdriver when installing the board! Some of these plates are back-lit with multi-colour LEDs, which is nice if you're into the 70's discotheque vibe. It's an expensive board, but it has lots of features and offers a lot of scope. I've never been disappointed with an MSI product, and I've bought a few over the years, so I don't expect to be disappointed with this one either. Very happy with my purchase.
