Excellent, heavy duty, upper body muscle saver
I bought this to save my shoulders and neck from being pulled out of place every time I walked a dog that is part Bernese Mountain Dog. She is so strong! I had to go the chiropractor to get back into alignment so my neck would stop hurting. After I started using this, it was so much better! (i sound like an infomercial… sorry! It was just so nice.)I was walking the dog with a stroller loaded with kids and I had to wear leather gloves to stop the leash from rubbing sores into the skin between my thumb and pointer finger. Now I only pick up the leash for extra control when crossing streets or encountering other dogs. I love having my hands free to focus on controlling my stroller. It clips nicely around the waist, I leave it a bit loose because the dog is a roamer and it’s easier to simply rotate the belt instead of stepping over the leash. This makes the padding a bit in the way, but since the main clip part is across from the padding, it still does its job to stop the belt from digging into your hips. It’s barely noticeable unless the dog pulls on it due to it being lightweight. But it isn’t so lightweight that I was worried about it being able to handle the dog. It feels like a quality, heavy duty belt.I bought a carabiner with an automatic lock mechanism to help hook different leashes since the dog already has a solid leather leash. Though, the leash that comes with the belt looks really nice and I like the bungee aspect of it since I think it would really help absorb the impact when the dog suddenly darts after or away from something. But the dog isn’t mine, so leather leash it is.The leash has a lot of reflective fabric on it, so it would definitely be visible after dark.I feel like the dog pulls less since she can feel more solidity on the other end of the leash. The leash does get stuck around the stroller wheel every now and then, I’m still working on a strategy to avoid that.If it’s not clear already, I like this belt and absolutely recommend it.I might get pictures of it in use in the near future.

The Best for the Beast
This has been an absolute godsend for use with my pit corso 11 month old puppy that is now currently around 75 pounds, pure muscle, and strong enough to pull my car out of a ditch.😂He is a puller which I am working on. The stress and strain he has put on my shoulder was starting to give me chronic pain, so since I have used the tuff pupper harnesses which I love since he was small, I decided to try this leash. I absolutely love it! No strain on my shoulders whatsoever, and I have the core of my body to stop him when/if he decides he wants to suddenly bolt after a small animal or other distraction. He is an independent thinker so he tends to be a slow learner and this removes 90% of the frustration I was feeling with the shoulder strain. The waist belt is wide, comfortable, very well made, and adjustable. I wear it loosely so he can go around my body and pull the belt entirely around without me having to constantly readjust. The bungee is "tuff" and ideal for catching him when he "takes off" adequately, comfortably (for both of us), and strongly. The quality of materials is really good. As this guy is not easy on anything. I have only had it since August but it, he, and I have been out with it often and it takes his punishment well.I highly recommend Tuff Pupper products in general if your dog is a "beast", as they are made to last, and this leash in particular as it is strong, and well-made, and will by all indicators last us for years to come. Though spendy, if you have a strong guy like I do, the value for money cannot be beat!😀👍❤️

Well-made, comfortable, great leash!
I wasn't sure I'd like this set-up, but man, I love this thing! Freeing up both hands while on a walk with a cup of coffee, sending a text, or going out with my camera is great. It's long enough to give my dog, Ryder, a little room to sniff to his heart's content, but short enough to be in control of him. He's a very well-behaved guy - limited pulling, zig-zagging, etc. - but there are a few dogs in the neighborhood he doesn't like. I've never had an issue corralling and redirecting him - the leash has padded loop/handles at both ends to allow easy control of your dog.I worried how it would feel when he did unexpectedly pull or lunge. The bungee works as a shock absorber - between that and the padded waist belt, I've never felt uncomfortable, even when he decides to lunge towards a bunch of pigeons. There are metal loops on either side of the belt - I use these for a clip-on bag holder and a carabiner for anything else I don't want to carry. The belt easily holds a treat bag, too.I take him for walks, hikes, jogs, and even take him on roller blade-runs to wear out his Aussie-Border Collie energy. I feel a lot safer with this leash than a normal leash - if i were to fall, both hands are free to brace myself, and I can't drop the leash and risk losing my dog.I've had this for 6 months now, and use 3-5 times a day; other than expected wear-and-tear, it's still going strong. I feel weird typing up a long review for a leash, but I get a ton of use out of it, and it's so much more convenient and comfortable than a standard leash. Again, my dog isn't a big puller, or unexpectedly reactive to wildlife, so I'm sure that also contributes to my comfort level with this leash.

Great for bigger folks
I have a golden retriever that I use this leash for. I feel like he’s super safe on this because it’s very well made and I don’t think anything would ever snap on it. He doesn’t pull unless there’s a bug he wants to catch, and the bungee effect on the lead is perfect to give him a few inches but pull him right back. I got the extension for him since I normally walk him on a 6 foot leash, but the extension makes the leash almost too long so it drapes on his back which he doesn’t like. It’s improved his minor pulling so he walks like right beside me in a perfect heel I never trained him in.I got this for post-surgery where I had restrictions on what I could carry, but I could walk him if I didn’t have to worry about holding the leash. It works like an absolute dream, and I don’t think I’ll go back to using a hand-held leash for our adventures. It also gives me my hands so we can work on training while walking. In terms of sizing, I wear a 40-42 in men’s pants, and this expands even larger than my waist. It’s easy to extend as well, so you can perfect the fit so it doesn’t slide off or strangle your tummy as you walk. In terms of dog size, my golden boy is just 60lbs, but is a very solidly built bird dog so he has a lot of power if he decides to use it. I use a harness with him when we walk, and this attaches to him perfectly. As a note, the Tuff Pupper brand is an amazingly high quality product for the amount you pay. I’ve had their collars in the past, and if they hadn’t been chewed off while in the puppy stage I think the collars would still be in use. I’ve probably worn the waist leash 100x and there’s not a single thread pulling out or a sign of wear on it. I really love that I know this waist leash will last the lifetime of my dog, barring his decision to chew it apart.

Works but could be better.
I bought this leash and also the SparklyPets Hands Free Double Dog Leash. Since I have 3 dogs I thought I would try 2 different kinds of leashes. The most difficult dog Otto (he's lovely but just difficult on walks) chewed on it and it got a little broken after a few days, as you can see in the picture (he's playing around on the floor). Otto is a rescue who chews on the leash, jumps, runs super fast and then lunges. So he's putting the leash to the test. And I have to say that this kind of elastic band type of leash makes our walks a lot more pleasant. But, they don't remove all the pain from the lunges. That's why I always hold on to at least the upper most handle, if not his lunges can hurt my waist. It's not a great leash if you have to use the handles often. I prefer the SparklyPets leash in that regard since the handles are open on that one and a lot faster to grip. The handles on this leash are comfortable but I had to switch and use this leash for the dogs that don't need me to grip the handles all the time. The band that goes around the waist is narrower and less comfortable than the SparklyPets band. All in all, not a bad leash, but I would choose the SparklyPets leash instead.

Love this product
This quality leash, along with the leash extension, has been a total game changer. The firm bungee element offers just enough give when my dog pulls ahead, and it actually prevents her from pulling harder. The material is also really durable and the cushion strap around the back of the waist adds extra comfort. When I used to walk her with a regular leash, my lower back was always killing me from her pulling (we're working on her fearfulness triggers). No more back pain. Also, there is a metal loop on the waist strap that's perfect for attaching the poop bag dispenser to. Waist strap also adjusts easily between me and my partner using it. I also really like that there are three leash handle loops, counting the extender, all along the length of the leash. This setup is also perfect for hiking when I use trekking poles: she's safely secured to me with extra length to walk ahead, while both of my hands are free to use the poles or dig stuff out of my pack without worrying about dropping her leash in the wilderness. Material is very thick and durable. Very functional for my needs. Super happy with this purchase.

Not for strong dogs; leash snapped on second use
When I got this setup, I was (still am) pleased with the quality of the belt. My initial reaction to the leash was that it’s nice to have, but would never be able to hold my dog as a primary leash (I have a strong, frog clipped leash as his primary, and clipped the bungee leash onto the far back ring of his harness as a backup and a “just in case my other leash breaks” type of thing).Fast forward to our second walk, after a couple good forward tugs from Butters, the bungee cords in the leash snapped. Our first walk was so nice and enjoyable, and this walk was cut short (he’s reactive to other dogs and we saw another pup walking with his hoomin before even getting to the end of the street - the hoomin was a jerk about it, but that’s not the puppers fault… Butters just gets so excited, poor doggie) because I didn’t want to have to manage a broken leash.I do like the belt. More giving a 1 star review to call attention to the leash being garbage if your dog pulls almost at all. I think bungee leashes are really flawed for strong pullers because a 90lb dog that’s pulling like a tractor like mine does (we’re working on that 😭😂) is going to destroy a stretchy leash on any old regular day. He’s the sweetest thing, but he’s incredibly strong when determined to stay in 4-paw drive. The hands free belt is great, super simple to set up and can even be used with carabiners as I’ve chosen to do. Maybe I will use a regular leash to replace the bungee leash and will just have two leashes hooked up to my dog that attach to the belt. Might look a bit silly but that’s better than having a dog that escapes.0/100 for the leash; really disappointing. So far, 8/10 for the belt - I’ll update this review on whether that part holds up (again, this is only my second use but I’m immediately infuriated by the leash breaking… what a joke).

Great for running with the dog or just freeing up your hands
Been using this every day for about 5 weeks and this is better than expected. It is very secure and substantial. No way is this failing. The bungee works well, with just a little give. The length of leash is perfect so as to minimize the dog having enough leash to get tangled up with. The accessory dog bag dispenser is so convenient and that just makes one less thing to forget. The leash unclips from the belt if you need to hand the dog off for any reason. And I use the belt to run my dog 4 miles each day, so it has been getting lots of use. I appreciate that it leaves my arms free to swing in a natural running way.

Wonderful quality!
I was looking for something reasonably cheap but at the same time robust and nicely produced to be able to go hiking with my dog (so my arms would be free for hiking poles or photocamera). And somehow found this product and many great reviews with photos. So I decided to give it a try. And I must say - the quality is wonderful (see photos)! So highly recommend to anybody who want to try hiking or maybe canicross or just want to go for a walk with a dog and be happy and free!
