Amplified™ Semi-Permanent Hair Dye 118ml (After Midnight®)

the color is really pretty and vibrant. I did blue highlights on my hair and I love the results. I’ve already repurchased this hair dye and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to have blue hair.

Manic Panic's amplified voodoo blue/ atomic turqoise/enchanted forest colours are extremely powerful dyes. I bleach my hair first as it's dark brown. These amplified colours are extremely vibrant (especially compared to other brands) and fade to a bright pale turquiose over 7-10 washes (depending on shampoo) but they never completely wash out. (I have not had the same success with their red based dyes.) I'm allergic to PPD so most hair dyes are out of the question for me, I've been using Manic Panic constantly for 3 years with no adverse effects - obviously I am not you and you should always do a patch test first. It also conditions hair incredibly well.

I'm always chopping and changing my hair colour, and this was the first time I used manic panic and I chose the AMPLIFIED AFTER MIDNIGHT BLUE DYE. The advice is always to pre lighten the hair, with bleach if needed. I decided against this has I had already pre lightened my hair (but not bleach) when I dyed it pink 4 month's ago. And couldn't be bothered to wait for the pink to totally fade and start right from the beginning. Blah, blah. Being an insomniac (and impatient) was an advantage for when trawling through the Internet and YouTube looking for advice on dying straight over the pink. The majority outcome was not to as it would be a yucky colour . But I found 1 video that did take that risk and it turned out beautifully. So I decided to take the plunge. I put on cheap plastic gloves (my advice is to use washing up gloves (I wish I had. And make sure that they are ones you won't want to use again lol)), which did tear hence my lovely blue hands. And smothered protelium jelly around my hairline and top of my ears. This is a messy process and preparation is everything. I emptied the contents into a bowel and added a squirt of WHITE coloured hair contiditioner just to lighten it a tad. And applied it starting at my roots. Once fully covered I got clingfilm piled my hair on top of my head and wrapped it in the clingfilm and left it for 3 hours (manic panic advice is 30 mins, but I've found for myself, the longer the better). As you can see (my pic's aren't the best as I'm not the most photogenic), the only way I can describe the outcome is WOW!!! WOW!!! It looks so much better in 'real life'. The blue obviously has attached itself to the pink and the rest of my virgin hair a blackish colour, which thankfully covered my natural sparkly bits. When I wash it next, I will use cool, even cold water, if I'm feeling brave and colour saving shampoo/conditioner. And in between washes dry shampoo (which is my new best friend and should be yours too), as every wash reduces the colour and vibrancy. So I wash my hair once or twice a week. I've had so many compliments the most I've had with any colour. I gave 3* stars for long lasting as I've only been blue a week, so time will tell. I would recommend this colour and brand, and I can't wait for when I try another colour in a few months x

Great colour, easy to apply. Over the first couple of weeks it washed out a little and marked the pillowcase but since then has held on for 6 weeks or so.

Amazing dye easy to use and product came very quickly

I've used After Midnight multiple times now, either on my natural mid-brown hair, or on bleached ends. It always washes out into completely cool-toned shades, so it's perfect for getting rid of unwanted warm and brassy tones, which is what I've been using it for. On my natural mid-brown hair - it creates an amazing teal-green that changes in different lights. Comes out quite dark on the hair at first, but washes out and softens quickly. Hair just looks a cool-toned dark when you're away from the light, but in sunshine or bright light you can really see the teal green. I love that effect. On bleached hair - catches on exactly like the picture, a true blue, doesn't fade too quickly but when it does it's a silverish kind of denim blue first, which then turned into a tiffany's sort of green, but that was probably because the bleached blonde ends I had underneath were quite yellow. Each time I loved the end result and enjoyed the way the colour changed overtime.

Looked great initially - blue even on my light brown hair. It ruined my hair over the longer term so PLEASE AVOID 3 months later and after using two colour remover... my hair are clearly stained blue/green to the cuticle. My hairdresser did a test before a balayage and confirmed that if I would lift the colour of my hair it comes out plain green. The whole point of a semi-permanent colour is that it is supposed to wash away with shampoos. However I didn't know that it's very common for blue colours to permanently stain (not dye) the hair all the way to the cuticle. The only thing I can do now is wait and use a copper toner to get my hair closer to a brown. UPDATE ONE YEAR AFTER APPLICATION: I was able to recover a more natural brown hair colour using lots of red and copper toners, but I just did a strand test by my hairdresser as I'd like to go blonde and MY HAIR ARE STILL STAINED! It is actually preventing the bleach from working. Really unacceptable.

D'habitude j'utilisais les colorations LaRiche Directions ou Crazy Color mais elles dégorgeaient très vite et imprégnaient souvent mes oreillers, cols de vêtements etc. J'ai décidé de tester Manic Panic qui est légèrement plus cher et je ne le regrette pas. Après avoir décoloré j'ai appliqué la couleur Blue Midnight mélangée à une pointe de noir (Raven). La photo ne rend pas vraiment justice à la couleur. Comme j'avais une base blond jaune, le bleu a viré lentement à un bleu-vert canard, ce qui est normal et très joli. La couleur est hyper tenace, j'ai beau laver mes cheveux ça ne dégorge pas, ou à peine au niveau de la racine des cheveux. Pas de traces sur mes oreillers. Pour l'instant la meilleure marque de colorations fugaces que j'aie pu tester. Le prix un peu supérieur est justifié. De plus sur cheveux courts un pot peut faire deux ou trois colorations, pour peu que vous la mélangiez avec un peu d'après-shampooing.

I had such high hopes for a rich, dark blue/purple. My hair is partially prelightened/bleached, but I've used Punky Colour in dark colours to tint my natural roots before and blend into the prelightened hair many times in the past with great results. The results I got from this were shockingly bad. It barely tinted my natural dark blonde a teal-green, and the rest of my hair was a mishmash of colours ranging from purple to turquoise. I fully saturated my hair and combed through to distribute, and let the dye sit for nearly 3 hours, as I normally do (and followed all other directions). I'm so disappointed with this product. Will be sticking with Punky Colour in the future.

El color no es exactamente lo que me esperaba ya que buscaba un azul oscuro marino, con subtonos morados. Sin embargo cogió muy bien sobre mi pelo natural. Partía de una base con mechas balayage, por lo que las raíces se ven más oscuras y las mechas en diferentes tonos de azul. El tinte es más bien un azul eléctrico, y decolora hacia el verde, así que tenerlo en cuenta. Para la longitud y densidad de mi pelo necesité dos botes, y dura bastante con los lavados. Llevo con él 10 lavados y no ha perdido apenas intensidad. También destiñe bastante, tener cuidado con prendas claras, las toallas y las sábanas, ya que cuando está mojado a día de hoy mancha, seco no tanto. Os muestro unas fotos de referencia, ya que me costó elegir el tono por falta de imágenes. Mi color inicial de pelo, media melena teñida, recién aplicado, y finalmente tras dos semanas ondulado. Si queréis aplicarlo sobre el pelo natural, tiñe muy bien y en un pelo castaño queda azul oscuro, cuanto más claro, más variedad de azules y saturación (se puede ver con las mechas) pero al lavarlo pierde el azul y se queda verdoso. Si os gusta no hay problema, y si lo veis feo, estilado queda y se disimula mucho mejor. ¡Espero seros de ayuda!

Used over the Transylvania black from Artic fox (it faded purple given the previously existing Color). Color stuck better than I expected. It’s. Nice dark blue over faded Transylvania and it’s a nice emerald green/teal over Electric Lizard. Hair is left feeling soft as well
