Yes the plastic sheet needs to come off and I was holding the dressings in place with an adhesive dressing with a central pad. Melotin I think it's called.

What is the expiry date on these dressings?

Are these dressings suitable to be cut, as my son has a small area that is very slow to heal but using a whole dressing each time would be a waste.

yes definitely. i have done so and just kept the left over dressing in the packet folded over. cut it through the plastic sheets that are either side of the dressing it cuts very easily. i can recommend these dressings 100%. they heal my mum's legs and prevent ulcers forming. they were recommended by a consultant but we could only get the liquid tube on nhs which was difficult to use. hope your son's leg heals quickly.

Are these individually wrapped?  Is this medical  grade manuka?

Yes they are individually wrapped about 4"X 4" from what I remember.  I used them on my mam (she now passed away) the community nurses were faffing about on a wound that would not heal, so  mam and i started to use these and it worked.  I work as a therapist and one of my clients said his wife had had an ulcer and it took 4 years at the hands of the nhs and he cured it with honey dressings.  I think it is medical grade manuka! but you can research this. Hope this helps.
