I have problems with a frozen shoulder, a painful hip and intermittent bad back. I needed to replace a previous mattress which had sunk in the middle and exasperated the pain, so when this mattress appeared on offer, I read the reviews and gave it a go. So, how did it perform? Well, having arrived promptly, I unrolled the mattress and allowed it to expand for 24 hrs or so, as the instructions direct, but unfortunately a large fold across the end a a few other smaller dips in the foam around the sides refused to inflate, so it had to be returned. Amazon were excellent and arranged the courier service immediately. I explained there was no possibility to return it to its original packaging and the confirmed it could be wrapped as best I could manage. The replacement was delivered promptly and expanded fully. As others have mentioned, it did have a strong smell, but it disappeared after a week or two and I was able to use it after day 1 without any problem. Performance - this is a firm mattress, which offers excellent, full support and my painful spots were relieved to a great degree. I would recommend it to anyone, but with a couple of points to mention, although they are minor and will depend on personal preferences and situations. I am not a heavy person and although this is very comfy and you don't sink into it, which can cause problems for those with pain/injury issues, as with some memory foam mattresses, it can feel a little hard later on in the night and I have woken feeling a little uncomfortable in the early hours, although far less frequently than the disturbed sleep I was previously experiencing. I have solved this by adding a mattress topper, which has given it just a slightly softer touch. For heavier people, I imagine this would not be an issue and not only would this mattress be even more comfortable and supportive, but it's firmness certainly eliminates any rolling together, or feeling another person turn in the night. So, in summary.....definitely recommended for those with painful joints, back sufferers and those light sleepers or heavier persons who are disturbed by movement or rolling together, but may require a thin topper depending on an individual's weight and firmness preference. Should also mention this was a single mattress, purchased for an electric bed which is the continental 200cm size and can be difficult to find elsewhere, so another bonus, especially at this price.

Had our Mattress for a month now & really Pleased with it. First off I would recommend going to your local matters/bed shop as we did so we could decide if Memory Foam was for us. After trying out the Tempur mattresses at a price tag of £1500 (some slightly less, but still not in our price range) & finding the firmness level we were after we could then Look online felling a bit more reassured as to what we wanted. The Silentnight 7-Zone Mattress had the same thickness & a similar firmness ratting as the Tempur at a fraction of the price, Amazon also being at lest £40 cheeper than I found elsewhere. So after reading the other reviews we decided to go for it. You have to leave it unrolled and flat on your bed in a warm room for 24h, then its bed time :) It is a totally different experience, weird at first, but then you get use to it and its soooo comfy! And another Pluss is the the Kids don't try & jump on my bed anymore cause there is no bounce. You have to rotate (Not Turn/Flip) the mattress every week for the first 4 then monthly just like a regular mattress. It is much warmer than a regular mattress but this is easily solved by having a lighter weight Duvet, we have a 4.5 tog (this seems to work fine, I'm a cold sleeper & my Husband is a hot sleeper) and will just add a Throw/Comforter when it gets chillier and I now no longer needs a my electric blanket. There is a weight difference between my husband & I (me being 3-4 stone heavier) & you cant tell with this mattress. The only problem was with the delivery! I went for super saver delivery & was expecting delivery 5days after I order Via City Link. This date fell on a Friday, after sitting about all day I received a text from Amazon (Not City Link!), when I phoned Amazon told me they could deliver due to an Address problem & gave me a number to contact. Apparently my address was incomplete, when actually they just couldn't find it so didn't bother to contact me & just took it back to the depo. I waited a further 2h to see if they would try to redeliver, but No. Unless I wanted to wait till Monday (which would have meant I would not get into my bed till Tuesday), I had to drive 30miles to collect it, with no apologies. Summary: Mattress - Great & a fantastic Price & Quality Delivery - City Link: Crap and would rather no use them given the choice

I considered the 3 zone mattress Silentnight Mattress 3-Zone Memory Foam Rolled Mattress, King and opted for this one as the price difference was only £50 Silentnight Mattress 7-Zone Memory Foam Rolled Mattress, King I have a couple of slipped discs in my thoracic area of my (upper)back and `soft tissue' damage in my neck. I get numb hands with pins & needles if I lay slightly on either side, middle & lower back ache the longer I stay in bed. I can't do a lay in. Headaches from my neck and in the last year or so, very poor circulation in my legs. The side effect being mostly 1 but sometimes 2, freezing feet, despite having being tucked up and nice & warm everywhere else! I found it more comfortable to sleep sat up, so I bought a wedge pillow BED WEDGE WITH WASHABLE,QUILTED POLY COTTON COVER to add to my other 4 feather pillows (tried the ortho neck pillow) and the 5th to soften to hard feel of the wedge! If I managed to not move all night, I wouldn't get so much lower & middle back pain. My old mattress is a pocket sprung orthopaedic good quality mattress costing £500 11 yrs. ago. I hated the damn thing and never found it relived my pain. Over the last couple of years especially, going to bed was a necessary evil to be endured! Was it the mattress or just my back? I have done lots of research on mattresses and would pay lots of money for one that would guarantee comfort and lessen pain. I've even looked for other people with the same injury (couldn't find any) to see what they recommend. The memory foam style mattress seem good for some & not others . The main problem was potentially paying out up to £3000 for another mattress I'd hate. I'm aware that some companies allow you a 60 day money back offer (Tempur), but they also charge 2 x delivery so you're out of pocket £120 if it doesn't suit. Dreams offer a 40 day swap offer, but I was put off by their dreadful customer service rating by Which & other websites. What price do you pay for comfort? I have a friend that had purchased 3 mattresses of varying price and quality & found the last & cheapest to be the most comfortable! So that's why I've waited so long to replace the old one. Anyway.. I used Which as a place to start. The Silentnight Mattress, 3-Zone Memory Foam Rolled Mattress came top as a Which best buy. The only problem being was locating it. Despite checking Silentnight stockists, the only place it was available was Amazon. That meant I would be unable to try it out first. However when checking reviews, most gave it a 5 star rating, so I thought I'd be mad not to try at that price. If the worse came, I'd sell it as nearly new and hopefully get most of my cash back. We did give it a full 20 ish hours before using it, just to be sure it settled & grew to full size. It is about an inch smaller in length & width that the old mattress, but once the bed is made, is not noticeable on our wooden slatted base frame. Our base does comply with the max & min gaps recommended by Silentnight as noted in other reviews. Because other reviews reported it to be warm, & my husband hates to be too hot, I used an extra sheet under the mattress protector. In total there a now 3 layers between us & the mattress. 2 weeks later... I can now sit up in bed & read for hours without my backside going numb! I don't bounce out the bed when my far heavier husband get in or turns over. In fact I don't even wake anymore when he turns. An unexpected bonus. `Other' bedroom activities are not effected by the change in mattress type as some report with memory foam. The wedge pillow is gone! I can lie flatter, still slightly sat up, but at least I can roll on my side again. It was impossible at the odd angle I used to be in sat up & uncomfortable on my hip joints before, but not anymore. My circulation has improved? It's not cured but definitely better. Overall I've enjoyed a better nights sleep & less lower & middle back pain. It is warm, but not unbearable. My husband has no complaints as he did with the old one. I was so concerned it could have been worse I'd been reluctant to take the plunge. But at this price, you can't really lose. I wish I'd bought one years ago!!

Purchased this right at the very end of 2015 (pretty much 2016). Unfortunately i would say this is the worst mattress i've ever owned. I have been turning this every month, but tbh it needs to be turned more often. Where ever i sleep after a few days the foam dips and it feels like i am sleeping in a crater or at the side of a mountain. I purchased this as it claims it's good for next or back pain. It's not actually don't anything to help my pain, so i will be buying a different mattress. I am not sure if it's a design fault or if i've managed to get a faulty mattress. It was comfortable for maybe the first 2-3 months, before i needed to rotate it, and it's been needing frequent rotation ever since. I sleep one side, then the other, then needs rotating as the foam hasn't sprung back. I then rotate and start the process again. It's to the point i need to do this probably every few weeks, and for a mattress, that's too much effort. My parents have a silentnight mattress and love theirs, unfortunately i can not say i love mine. I'll be contacting the manufacturer to see if i can get some of my money back and they can collect it, as having the mattress for 2 years is well under the time i thought i would need to replace and well within their warranty period. Edit: can someone on amazon please get in contact with me regarding my refund. Silent night refuse to do anything about it as my contract is with amazon, but there's no where on my account where I can contact you in regards to this. I'm really not happy as it is and making it more difficult for customers to get what's advertised will just irrate us further leading us not to use silent night or amazon again for buying such products!!!

Wow. I decided to buy a new mattress as our previous one (sprung with memory foam topper) was beginning to wear away and give the better half back ache. I was also struggling to sleep through the night, though I attribute that to symptoms of S.A.D and usually happens during winter. Ordered through prime and received next day as promised. The delivery man suggested it was heavy and offered to carry it up the 2 flights of stairs, and I would suggest if you're not the strongest that you get help carrying upstairs, but I managed it. The very outer packaging was quite dusty, so I gave it a quick wipe before bringing into the flat. I would suggest putting the rolled up mattress on the bed first, cutting open the outer 2 layers of plastic that hold it rolled up, and then manoeuvring it so it's in the right position. Then, cut open the packing holding it vac packed and pull off. It is so much easier to move around when its vac packed than when starting to puff out. The instructions say to leave it 24 hours to expand fully, but I couldn't wait to sleep on it so I followed advice from another review and stuck the heater on in the room, and it expanded in about 6-8 hours. It takes a few nights to get used to rolling out of the dip and moving around on it. We've had the mattress 3 weeks now and I've never slept so well in my life! I can even sleep comfortably on my back which I've never been able to do. The better half's back ache seems like it never happened (he can't believe it's only been 3 weeks). It still has a tiny pongy smell to it, it hardly noticeable. It stunk when we first got it, so once it's puffed out leave all doors and windows open for a few days. But I can live with the smell because of the amazing sleep we've had. The price is incredible too, the only reason we didn't buy a mattress sooner is because they're so expensive, but this one is affordable and I can see it lasting us a long time.

Came across one of these before except it was a cheap 10cm thick mattress included with a bed from a High Street bucket shop and was rather uncomfortable so was ditched along with the bed. This mattress Silentnight 7 zone 90x190cm UK size, 20cm thick. Price Paid. £149.00 £8.99 express timed delivery. Arrived vacuum packaged in a strong outer clear polythene bag that actually smells awful, the mattress is packaged inside that in a thinner clear polythene bag, again this smells awful which gives the impression that it is the mattress that smells, IT DOES NOT, I left the mattress laid flat on the floor for 72 hours in a warm room allowing to fully expand, i found it expands quicker if you undo the zip at the top lower side as this fills the protective sheet corners up perfectly. Size fully expanded exactly 20cm, if your mattress is not 20cm fully expanded then you have ether been sent the 3 zone mattress that is thinner or it has not expanded properly. I would not recommend using this mattress on bed frames that use across the bed frame lats rather than flat divan type frames as the memory foam sinks between the bed frame lats and takes the shape of the frame. Comfortable to lay on from the first lay down on the bed, takes a bit of getting used to, no smell whatsoever, supports my heels, my lower leg muscles, my upper leg muscles, my backside, my lower back, upper back, neck and shoulders supported by my pillows, it supports my 85kg shape perfectly and returns flat when you move off the bed. Will update in a month after some use. Dont make the mistake i made, the top of the mattress is the end with the zip on it which is designed to be the lower part of the mattress and rest on the bed surface. The mattress is stronger at the end your head and upper body lays on, i had it the wrong way and it felt as though i was lay on a incline. I would recommend the use of a elasticated sheet rather than the 'tuck in types' as they ruffle up easy on the mattress Perfect for me so far and i am very fussy about being comfy when in bed.

I bought this mattress on a lightning deal and, for the price, it's ok - a known-brand, budget mattress of a decent enough standard. The mattress arrived vacuum packed, and required a settling in period before use. It did, however, go out to its full shape and size correctly, and I did not notice any off-putting smell as mentioned by other reviewers. We were able to use it the same night it was unwrapped. The foam is encased in a removable fabric cover which is nice and soft to the touch. I don't think I'll ever be brave enough to remove this cover, as I've had enough fun and games trying to wrestle them back on to single mattresses before. The mattress is a decent depth, and sits well on my slatted frame. Whilst in bed by myself, I must say, it's quite comfy. The problem I have is that when two or more people are in the bed, the support goes to pot. I'm constantly finding myself battling to keep straight in bed, instead of rolling into the divot created by my wife's mid-section. It's even worse if she sits up in bed, creating more pressure/weight on one section. This has led me to waking with a sore back on more than one occasion. On our previous, sprung mattress, I did not have these kinds of problems.

Very tall son has always had problem with his back. Sitting at desks at school use to aggravate and the bed he was sleeping on didn't help. So we researched and found this to have excellent reviews re firmness price was good too. I must admit I was a bit worried about buying such a large item on line without having seen it or trying it. Needn't have worried. It was delivered on time. It is easy to carry up stairs. It's hard to believe that what you carried up stairs is a mattress! Getting into is another matter. It took ages to get through the packaging. Once in it starts to come to life. It fitted the double divan really well. First impression is that it's like a giant piece of covered foam. I must admit I did have a few misgivings looking at it. However, needn't have worried. Son is really pleased with it. Says he's sleeping much better. Nice and firm but comfortable to lie on. Unlike some people, we have had no experience with smells although after it arrived we did open the windows for several hours before use because of the reviews. Only time will tell if it has been a good long term purchase but for now it's certainly value for money.

je suis vraiment déçu de cet achat, que mauvaise qualité, j'ai mal ou dos, je dors pas, il prend l'humidité et la poussier, vraiment PAS recommandable! pour votre santé ne fait pas le même erreur que moi, pour vouloir s’épargner un peu d'argent maintenant je n'en peu plus, je vais m'acheter un vrai et bon matelas et a la fin j'aurai dépensé plus d'argent!
