Yes, they germinated quickly but the plants are still too small to let the cats eat them. However one of my cats has never shown Ny interest in cat mint but the other two love it. I tend to grow it in pots indoors.

Can you grow them indoors?

Yes. We grow it in a 9 inch diameter pot on the window sill so the cats can have it year-round. You'll want to put fresh soil every year as the nutrients in the soil deplete, especially when/if it gets big.

What is the best potting soil to grow the catnip in indoors i grew some many years ago and all the cats were ill which i put down to the incorrect s

Just buy potting soil in a bag- Amazon or garden centre. My cats have never been ill on catnip and the soil would not make them sick

What time of year is best to sow them and can you just sprinkle them in beds instead of actually planting?

I just sprinkled some on a large pot in the garden and they grew very well, but slugs liked them also if on the ground our cat would have eaten them 😊 not sure about time of year I put mine I early summer
