Best budget tower speakers if you use a good subwoofer.
Pros, 1. A 3 way sound design. 2. One 1 inch silk dome tweeter, one 6.5 midrange and 2 6.5 woofers for a complete range. 3. Being 8ohz these speakers can be used with literally any modern receiver. 4. 125 watts RMS per speaker. I don't go by peak power BTW. 5. This includes 2 speakers, speaker wire and installation guide all for the price of one name brand speaker. A value hard to beat. 6. Came well packaged and arrived undamaged. 7. Surprisingly good sound quality. 8. Removable grills for unmuffling the sound. 9. Fairly tall so you don't need to elevate these above ear level because if you're sitting for most people they should be a little above ear level. Cons, 1. Don't except these to sound like name brands like SVS, KEF, a high-end Elac, Klipsch, JBL, Polk Audio, Sony or Pioneer. For what you pay though if setup right they should sound very comparable. 2. Not the best build quality. I noticed these speakers aren't much heavier than my Polk Audio T50s I replaces with these. The MDF wood isn't as thick and the speaker magnet aren't as big. 3. IMO these are best suited to be used with at least a decent 10 inch subwoofer. I was using Dayton Audio 10 inch that works good with these speakers, but I just replaced it with a KlipschR-120SWand that subwoofer makes these speaker reallyshine. 4. Lastly for the people who complain about the sound in a lot of cases unless these don't suit your taste just by setting up a proper crossover frequency with a good subwoofer you can achieve a great sound IMO. 5. Being an 8oh speakers you're going to have to turn up the volume to get the same effect as a 6oh speaker. That's why a say these speakers are best used with a good quality powerful subwoofer. I replaced my Polk Audio T50 tower speakers with these. It's not that the T50s had a bad sound, but IMO they lack the full range I was looking for. The T50s have better bass response, but IMO lack in the midrange and don't seem to have as much volume in that area. These speakers with a decent subwoofer sound far far better than the T50s with a subwoofer IMO because with the right crossover frequency you get the complete front sound experience. I also use a center speaker for dialog and these speakers seem to enhance the dialog clarity. I just gor a Klipsch R-120SW and now these speakers sound 100 times better. Now I have the complete package. Great high-end, midrange, low mids and super tight low-end.

Sound amazing -- look is not completely like the photos, but still awesome too
These sound great! But beware of the image photos -- these speakers are not angled, just rectangular. (Thought they would be these cool tapered look, but that was a photo trick -- hence the one star off.) BUT, they still look fantastic and powerful, and most important, sound excellent -- great bass, great volume, and warm tones -- for far less cost than other speakers.

Great sound.
These speakers sound great, especially considering the price. I power them via a Sony 100w resort amp. The bass is very accurate but misses the low frequencies a little, because of the smaller woofers. The highs are crisp and clean.

Definitely no subwoofer needed....
Yes, you read that correctly… definitely no subwoofer needed. There’s plenty enough bass, deep and clean - as long as I tweak my equalizer accordingly. I find the sound of these towers to be excellent. No complaint whatsoever. So far, so good. I drive them with an old 100w. Sony receiver. When I play my music, I usually raise the volume to about half, which produces about 2 to 5 watts RMS (I know this because I use a power meter) and I find this is quite loud enough to blast my ears. Of course, these speakers can handle so much more. But that would only drive my neighbors crazy. The cabinets are in wood grain finish and they look just fabulous. With or without the grills. However, some specifications in the booklet are not accurate… The exact weight of a speaker is 25 lbs, not 55 lbs. (unless they counted the weight for 2 towers). The woofer and midrange dimensions are said to be 6.5” each, but my measurements (from membrane to membrane) give me 5.5” each. Just saying. Shipping process was very slow, and I also received my speakers in 2 separate shipments, 3 days apart. Conclusion: I still give them 5 stars, because they sound and look awesome. I’m not sorry I made this purchase, and I would very likely do it again if needed.
