Lightweight, competent and fast quality budget lens
Superb lens, better than the equivalent Fuji original. Easy to use - it can make your mirrorless almost point and shoot. I have it for my XH1 and it does a fantastic job with colour rendition, speed of focusing, contrast. Absolutely nothing i can say bad about this lens. They are so affordable, why not have this small lens in your bag for the close quarters stuff? I do have quality glass made by fujifilm and this does compare very well. Very lightweight and competent.

Fantastic walkaround lens
I've been debating about a new prime lens for my Fuji cameras for a while now, but what focal length, to choose: 23mm, or 27mm? There are many choices of manual focus lenses for the Fuji X mount, but I like my auto focus lenses. When I found that TT Artisans had produced a compact 27mm auto focus lens at an affordable price, I bought it as soon as it became available.Let's get the negatives out of the way first, it doesn't handle flare very well, the aperture ring can be fiddly as there are only two knurled places to adjust the aperture, and the lens is not waterproof. All very minor irritations, simply overcome, don't take the lens out in the rain, or point it at the sun!!The lens itself is compact, lightweight, and the build quality is of a decent all metal construction. Being as tiny as it is the lens is ideal for the smaller Fuji bodies, the X-A10, X-E1, 2, 3, 4, and the X-T10, 20, 30 for use as a street, or travel lens. I wanted the lens for my Fuji X-T20, to be used as a "walk about" travel lens, the 27mm focal length equates to approximately 40mm in full frame terms.Performance wise the lens offers very good image quality, just look at the detail on the quayside mooring bollard, this is a JPEG image shot wide open at f/2.8. The ornamental bird taken again wide open at f/2.8, ISO 1000 indoors, without flash, and the bokeh is fine. The auto focus is marginally slower than some of my other "fast" Fuji primes, but the face / eye detect seems to work well. The front lens cap is very tiny, easy to lose, however the rear lens cap has contacts, and a USB-C port to enable updating the lens, what a great idea. The lens is an absolute gem, a real bargain at the price, and I am very pleased with the performance. Definitely recommended, well done TT Artisans.

Great lens for the price
The lens is great for portability and image quality.Focus is sharp, F2.8 produces great images on a wide range of lighting conditions. It has 2 noticeable weak points that have been mentioned by other reviewers as well.1. Vignetting in low light.2. Flare effects.Example of both in the picture attached.Still, for this price is a great lens. I like it.

Excellent budget lens and perfect for Fuji Recipes
Having seen a number of reviews on YouTube about the lens, I thought I would take a chance and try one.The centre sharpness on the lens is impressive from the initial F2.8, which makes it an ideal lens for lower light conditions. The vignette on the lens adds a vintage old film vibe and when used with some of the many Fuji Film recipes you can really capture some great images, you can always correct the vignette in post if its something you don't like.Good value when compared the hard to find Fuji 27mm Pancake

Has it's flaws, but it's totally worth it.
Bourght this as i couldnt decide between the Fuji 35mm & 23mm. 27mm seems to be exactly what i'm after. 40mm equavalient which is what i'm used to coming from a Trip 35. Supreme image quality BUT vingette is present throughout the image. It's worse wide open at 2.8 and so is the distortion. You get these weird round distortions round the edge of the photo similar to a fisheye but without that super wide depth of field. Personally i love it, i think it works with my style of photography so i'm really not complaining. AF can play up sometimes so i tend to shoot manual and us Instant AF-L on my ex-2. AF-C is really where the problems lie. It will try to refocus again and again and again (continuously) on what you point it at. Whilst the Fuji lenses will see that the target is in focus and sit ready to focus on the next target prompted by the shooter. But for £180? I'll let it slide. If you want perfection then go spend £400+ on the Fuji 27mm. But i've also heard that isn't perfect either! You need to weigh up your options, look at the issues people have metioned and ask yourself if you could live with them. I will continue to use this as my primary lens and come back with a long term review in due course.

Not for me
Not a fan of this lens it produces a dark edge to photos which I absolutely dislike.
User
Very good.
Does everything it's supposed to: good, fast auto focus, excellent image quality between 4-11mm. It's updateable, well built and a very good price.

AMENDED REVIEW Nice lens but impossible to upgrade firmware
At first i was delighted with this neat little lens. Fitted it to my Fuji X-E3 and took it for a walk. Quickly discovered that it appeared to cause the camera shutter to fire randomly while the camera was switched on! I exposed 25 images and during that time it produced 12 spurious exposures. Much later I realised that somehow, “Touch Screen Exposure" was switched ON. As this is a feature I NEVER use I’ve no Idea how it came to be ON, but was almost certainly the cause of the spurious exposures. Whether this setting was changed by the lens or by the camera lying unused for a while, I don’t know.I did notice that the manual suggested a “Firmware Update” with a port on the lens back cap fo carry this out. Wasted an hour over this, The website insisted on Windows so I had to move from my Mac to PC, then it insisted on Win 10 ONLY so I had to find an ancient laptop, took an age to power up, then the downloaded file was a type which could not be read by any of my systems. At this point I decided to return the lens, . A pity as the images it produced were really nice, crisp and bright with a great field of view and with good colour accuracy.

Autofocus died in less than 2 years
Update:Autofocus stopped working in a year and a half. Contacted TTartisan and was told to tap the lens like hell and it started working again. I don’t know how that worked but it did so all good!Original Review:Bought this as a first lens for my xt5 and I am blown away by how well this little guy performs! It has pretty good bokeh at 2.8 (I do like the angled look of it) and is also quite while autofocusing unlike what I have heard of the official 27mm Fuji lens. This means it’s a good lens for video as the mic won’t pick up on the noise.Being 27mm it’s perfect for everyday shooting, be it street photography, nature or portraits (see my examples!)It’s a tiny bit hazy at f2.8, sharpening at 4 and above but I don’t mind it as I do shoot lo-fi vintage like pictures anyway but if it’s something that bothers you then you might wanna go for something else.Overall, I would highly recommend this over the official 27mm if you’re on a budget and are fine with not having weather sealing.PS: The film simulation in my pictures is the Portra 400

Good and compact budget lens
Good value for the money, however the auto-focus is not as quick as I expected, it takes a little bit to get used tgo. Otherwise, size, build quality and sharpness is great. Has become my main everyday carry lens.
User
Buona qualità, vignette eccessivo
Alla fine dei conti si ottiene ciò che si paga, fa un buon lavoro ma trovo il vignette troppo invasivo

Calidad y un precio muy competitivo

Great Value
Autofocus is great. Image quality is great. Build quality is good. However, the aperture ring has a grinding feel to it. Like it is being restricted and it is not smooth to turn. I would suggest just keeping it on Auto and using the custom dial on the camera instead.
