HandiWriter Handwriting Tool

I was delighted with the Handiwriter Handwriting Tool and my students took to it with ease. I had first heard of it on a teachers' online forum where it came highly recommended. A short 'intervention' using the Handiwriter familiarized the children with the correct pencil grip and most of them retained this information. For those that didn't I have them using the Handiwriter for a short time again. I have recommended this tool to the rest of the Learning Support team where I work. It is great that something so simple and inexpensive is so effective.

The concept and usefulness are very good. It does what it says and shows children with poor grip how to position the pencil and maintain the grip. I do think it is overpriced for the components as it is basically a hairband, piece of string, bead and plastic tie - wish Id had the idea first.

While it does help, it is the size of a children's product. Also, it is a waste of money. Just buy a thick hair bobble and one of those plastic ties that you have to cut off and secure it around one end of the product. That is what this product is.

The product is great. My son has a better pencil grip since he has been using this tool. I really recommend
