Totally perfect for laying decking
Can be used as a normal clamp but for laying decking it's invaluable, ensuring the decking boards run completely paralell. Excellent quality and easy to use. Giving this product five stars was an easy decision!

Superb and cost-effective.
This just works. Way exceeded my expectations for the price. Beautifully engineered and simple to use. My deck will be measurably better as a result. Fabulous bit of kit.

Excellent product and well worth the money!
Excellent product, far exceeded my expectations. If you are building a deck it's invaluable. It saves so much time and effort. I wouldn't be without it.No need to buy expensive spacers though. I found an old set of small plastic chopping boards of the right thickness and away I went!

Essential tool for a professional looking deck
Without this little gizmo my decking boards would have been completely unparallel (if that's a word) as boards are rarely straight. The little gripper arms are removable and can be rotated so they can be fitted flush with a wall (for example) for the first couple of boards. I couldn't guess at the the pressure per inch of this clamp but it was strong enough to bend some very warped 3 metre boards into line. Amazing really. For the price this is an absolute bargain, and frankly without it my decking would have been a disaster. Worked well with the adjustable Wolfcraft spacers too.

Just what the doctor ordered, if I was a doctor
I spent a day slowly progressing with makeshift straps with levers to tighten and straighten the decking boards as I laid them. I eventually got the zig and went to google and found this clamp and it transformed the work. I'm still not an expert, but what a difference - it works very well, straightens any bent board I threw at it and unlike my convoluted multi-strap system, a simple click and it opens and you move on. One note - you need a minimum of 5mm between boards to use this as is, but it took me 5 minutes to concoct a simple add-on to allow you to clamp against a thinner piece of metal used in its place.

My experience of using the Wolfcraft deck board clamp
I was laying deck boards in a heatwave and they were beginning to curve in the sun before I could fix them down. This clamp allowed me to hold the boards straight as I fixed them. This would have been impossible to do without it.What I didn't like was the need to leave a 5mm gap between the boards, in order to use the clamp. The previous deck I was replacing had no gaps which I couldn't reproduce with the clamp. If you don't have 5mm deck board spacers to use with the clamp you need to purchase a pair as an extra. I used a piece of 5mm thick sheet material as a spacer which worked well.In summary a very good tool for laying deck boards if you can tolerate a 5mm gap between deck boards.

Great but........
I bought this as an aid to laying a 8 x 4.4 mtr wooden decking area and needed something easy to use and help in keeping everything square. I also purchased the spacers which are brilliant. Out of the packing the quality of the clamp product is very good and well made.I was concerned with regard to the plastic legs that do the clamping but they have so far been up to the job.My main issue is with the ratchet clamping which started off really well but after fixing around 22# 4.5 mtr boards (120mm x 32mm) the ratchet failed to grip a two board width effectively and I had to resort to a three board width. I am not sure if it will now last to the end of the job as I am only just halfway through the job.So all in all a great designed and well made bit of kit but not really impressed with its longevity so marked down accordingly.........
