Positive reaction
My little doggie hyperventilates on all car journeys, long of short and shivers as she is so frightened. Even with vents, air con on if windows open. She hates the bumps in road. This spray definitely helps her and her panting does lessen and stops for periods of time. I do spray the 10-15 minutes before she gets in, sometimes it leaves an acetone smell. So much improved. Hopefully by the time bottle is finished, she may not need it.

It worked!
Amazing! Was very dubious that this would work for my Westie who no longer travels well and gets stressed in the car....but wow! Happy dog, happy passengers!

Panting and shivering
Have a 5 yrs old dog when travelling becomes very anxious , after using this sprayed into his bed and bandana for a 3 hour journey it made not the slightest bit of difference, he still panted and shivered non stop.

It worked, even with a couple of caveats
It actually works! Now if you're reading this, you dread bonfire night(s) and taking the dog anywhere in the car. Short of building an underground bunker, or booking a holiday in the centre of Iceland, we really struggle with ours. We never fancied the drugs option from the vets, so we tried Adaptil plug in diffusers for the house.....Nah! Nada, nothing, no effect whatsoever. So we got a travel spray, initially for bonfire night. Sprayed her internal crate, and I mean SPRAY the crate, forget the guidelines, you can't poison them with this. The dog went in on her own accord and actually was trying to sleep! First time ever! Wasn't perfect, and it was still challenging, but every little helps, right? Soooooo, car travel time came. Usual panting and body shaking, and we gave her travel crate a good blast of spray......She went straight in and settled down! Blimey! You had to be there! 3 hour journey of which it was EASILY the least traumatic ever! Sure, she got up a couple of times and started panting. But it only lasted a few minutes and she went back to sleep. I've ordered 2 more, and intend to keep a regular supply. I don't normally bother with reviews, but those of you who know what it's like, might just want to give this a shot. It ain't cheap, but you can't put a price on seeing something you care about, being settled. Hope this helps some of you.

⚠️ 2 Stars for Impact, 0 for Safety: Why I’m Moving Past Adaptil in 2026
This review outlines the evolution of my travel strategy. While Adaptil Transport Spray once provided a "portable calm," I now see it as a risky compromise. To protect my dogs and the air we breathe, I have moved toward non-toxic, relationship-based alternatives. The Breakthrough (2024) After my dog suffered a leg injury in 2024, car travel became a major trigger. Initially, spraying her bandana with Adaptil 15 minutes before departure worked wonders. Seeing her "check in" with the scent made me a firm believer in pheromones—until I looked closer at the ingredients. ⏰ The 2026 Wake-Up Call: Toxicity & Biohazards As I uncovered the nature of the chemical carriers in these sprays, my perspective shifted. I can no longer ignore the hazards inherent in this product: ☣️ The Driver’s Risk: The spray relies on isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol), a biohazard that can cause drowsiness or dizziness if inhaled. The thought of being compromised behind the wheel is terrifying. ☠️ Respiratory Hazards for Dogs: Isopropanol is roughly twice as toxic to dogs as ethanol. For a creature with a sense of smell thousands of times more sensitive than ours, forcing them to breathe these vapours is a risk I won't take. 🛢️ Petrochemical Hazards: Adaptil uses isoparaffinic hydrocarbons (petroleum distillates). These are lethal if swallowed; because they can enter the lungs, they can cause severe chemical pneumonia. 🚮🚫 Specialist Disposal Required: This product should not be treated as standard waste. Due to its chemical composition, specialist disposal is required to prevent environmental contamination. A "Multi-Layered" Sanctuary of Calm 1) I have replaced synthetic sprays with a strategy that uses our bond as the anchor: 2) Safety Scent & Tactile Anchors: I use a recently worn T-shirt for a familiar scent and the Snuggle Puppy Heartbeat Toy for biological reassurance. 3) Bio-Acoustic Therapy: We play music engineered for canine ears, such as Through a Dog's Ear or The Mozart Effect. Active Adrenaline Release: Short walks or light play sessions before and after journeys are essential to burn off adrenaline and prevent "stress stacking." 4) Reward-Based Desensitisation: We rewired our dogs' emotional responses by feeding and playing in the car, gradually increasing journey lengths while monitoring for signs of stress. ⚠️ Critical Safety Instructions • DO NOT SPRAY DIRECTLY ON YOUR PET: It is a chemical irritant not designed for skin contact. • ALLOW EVAPORATION: Do not stay in the room with sprayed items for at least 15–30 minutes until the alcohol carrier has fully evaporated. A Note on Clinical Care: Some dogs suffer from profound anxiety that requires medical intervention. If your dog is a "non-responder" to training, please consult a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons professional for diagnosis. Final Thought ❌ I do not recommend this product. While pheromones have potential, the delivery system involves risks that are simply too high for a confined vehicle. I believe this product deserves a two-star rating because the "peace" it offers is bought at the cost of safety. Our dogs trust us to keep them safe—I’m choosing to keep our travel air clear and their calm rooted in our bond.

Helps settle and comfort anxious or stressed dogs at all life stages.
I usually have a bottle of DAP on hand for stressful times for my dogs - sudden or unexpected disruptions to their daily routines; thunderstorms, car journeys, and of course fireworks night (which is more like fireworks fortnight nowadays). Some dogs don't seem to be affected at all by DAP, but many dogs, including my own, do display more settled behaviours which is why I keep a bottle around. I got this new bottle as it's coming up to fireworks. My dogs are sensitive souls. I think they probably worry about how fireworks make me react as well as hating the screeches and bangs themselves - but anxiety is anxiety, whatever the cause. DAP for the dogs - Whisky for Maggie. Except not, as I'd probably just end up fighting the neighbours. These bottles of spray can be a booster when used in conjunction with a DAP plug in, or they can be used on their own. The 'reassurance' pheromone contained in DAP spray is in a volatile compound which needs to evaporate before the dog can properly detect DAP, so I spray a few puffs ten minutes or so in advance - in the car before a journey, or round their bedding/denning areas (storms or disruptions) or on my clothes and a few squirts into the air when it's fireworks. The calming effect should last a good couple of hours and you don't need much - dogs can pick up on just a few molecules in the air, and that's enough. A bottle lasts ages and has a shelf life of years if kept in its box. Online prices can differ, so it's worth shopping around - but get it from a reputable seller on here, as fakes do occur.

SUPER!
