does this item work with win 8.1

yes!! my HP picks up the sky Broadband but the Acer 8.1 is just a bit too far so that is the reason for the TP-Link, just follow the instructions adjust the attni. what I have done is focus the direction towards the room where my Laptops are, I don't suppose it makes any difference. Good Luck, whenever the signal does not I use the troubleshoot but it usually connects before the troubleshoot has ended. nichalandy.

Does this work out of the box with a raspberry pi?

I've had issues with Linux (which I presume the Raspberry Pi runs off) when using this. It keeps cutting out, but on windows it is fine. You have to install the windows driver on Linux and this will make it work - but out of the box no, it is very unstable. Hope this helps.

will this work with windows 8?

Worked fine. Plug it in and it picked up the wireless signal quickly and has worked ever since.

does this work with a usb printer?

I can't see it will work if directly connected to a USB printer as it needs an operating system to work
