This is a wonderful spatula. Ateco brand cake decorating products never let me down. This is a sturdy spatula with a thin sharp edge, perfect for icing a flawless cake (...in my line of work that's important!). I agree with all of the other reviews about the label being stuck to this spatula with a super-adhesive glue. As of July 2021, the seller hasn't fixed that problem. I was able to remove all of the glue and label by boiling water on my stove and letting the end of the spatula with the label sit in it for 3-5 minutes. Most of the label peeled off (with some force). I was able to remove the small bit of glue residue by reinserting the end back into the boiling water and rubbing the area in question. Just a couple of minutes, and the label and glue was completely removed. In my "professional" opinion, running it under hot water would take a LOT longer.

Perfect for so many things, this offset spatula is sturdy but still slightly springy, making it great for those weird lifting tasks that come up in plating foods including pastry. The wooden handle feels very craftsmanlike and stable.

I have occasional need for a larger offset spatula: mainly for helping to 'release' the bottom plate of 2-piece tart pans and springform pans...I have also started 'doing' lattice-top pies, and getting those strips of crust off the board without stretching or breaking them is a battle (Come to think of it, I have that same problem when making a 'constructed edges' tart base with puff pastry? It is tomato season, so I'll be doing making 'Mater tarts, soon, too!)? For me, based on ATK's reviews, it was between this and the higher-rated OXO, but I decided to chance the "$5 discount" and see? After all: Five bucks is five bucks. The glued-on label was, as it has been for others, a struggle, but it did come off/clean-up okay...eventually...the spatula itself is, I think: GREAT! I do not do much frosting of cakes, but thought that if I did, the distinctly well defined (Can wood be 'sharp'?) handle edges might be a longterm concern on my (getting older) hands? I show in the video how I 'solved' this...you won't get that minute+ back, watching it, but it might answer a few questions for you?

This is a high quality spatula. It appears it will last me a lifetime and I find it really useful so far. I highly recommend.
