Best liquorice tea bags
I absolutely love teapigs especially the liquorice and peppermint ones. In my opinion they are the best on the market. These are a constant renewable order for me.

It has a lovely sweet flavour of liquorice and refreshing mint.I love it.Just don’t steep the tea bag too long otherwise tea gets bitter. 🙂

I love these liquorice and peppermint tea pigs

If you like liquorice these are delicious
This is a marmite flavour but if you love liquorice these are wonderful. I’ve now got them on monthly repeat. They are a bit pricey but I make 3 cups from 2 bags.

Great for a treat
I'm not much of a tea drinker but my partner is an absolute addict. I bought these as a bit of a stocking stuffer but they went down better than the bigger gifts. They are expensive so not great for replacing your every day tea but they're perfect for when you want a little something special. The main thing is getting the right flavour as there are so many out there and they're generally quite strong, so if you don't like them you won't have fun forcing yourself to drink your way through them. They come in quite a nice box although nothing to write home about, the bags are different from others I've seen, made out of a sort of mesh material that seems quite sturdy. The stringy tab (not sure of the proper description) is well attached and I haven't seen them fall off, when they come out of the box the tab is very lightly glued to the bag so you have to pull it apart before dunking it, if the bag wasn't so strong I might be worried it would tear but it hasn't happened so far.

Very licky for little pigs, with plenty of pep!
Teapigs' varieties are much more expensive than most others, but they are the equivalent of fine vintage as opposed to plonk used for cooking, and tasting them, you suddenly realise the explosive, flavoursome quality of herbs, the natural sweetness produced in a plant through photosynthesis. This is a whole world away from dusty ground and crushed herbs with added 'natural flavourings'. Although one might think that increasing the surface area of the plant material in contact with the boiled water, by having particles as small as possible, would make the tea more flavoursome, the reverse is true, and it is the fact that the bags contain larger cuttings of mint leaf and licorice root, so I suppose less bruising to the plant material, that is responsible for the intensity of the flavour. It is a slightly surprising and very satisfying combination, this - licorice is a very warming, emollient, soothing thickly sweet herb, peppermint, also sweet, is refreshing and cooling. So with each gulp and sip there is almost a push and pull between earthy, condensing sweetness and airy fizziness, which ends up feeling and tasting curiously balancing. Both herbs are digestives, antispasmodic, aperitive. However - licorice 'in excess' (whatever that means) is contraindicated in hypertension - you can definitely feel its strongly heating qualities. And Teapigs do print the warning on the box. I can certainly feel heat penetrating to fingers and toes after a mug of this! A great drink on cold and chilly days, or if you are feeling a bit shivery. I would also drink this iced in the summer. So intense is the flavour, that one little silky temple is actually good in a large pot for 2-3 cups, or used again for those making just one cup
