Since both my phone and laptop have USB-C ports, I thought it was about time I updated my card reader to one that supports this standard. Therefore, I ordered this one because it looked like it would be strong enough to withstand being bumped around a little (in pockets etc.)When it arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the device. The body seems to be made of metal and the cap which protects the USB-C plug is a good fit - I'm pretty certain it's not going to fall off any time soon.In use, although I haven't measured the read and write speeds, it performs operations very quickly and I would have no reservations about recommending this reader to anyone.

I use mine to directly backup document, images form my Android A32 Samsung phone, into Micro SD.Works perfectly for backs ups, making more space on your phone, while on the move.As well as makes transfer of contents between phone and PC much more easy, at USB C 3.1. speeds.

Maybe I am somewhat sad for enthusing about this but there you go.I was looking for something I could use to transfer photos from cards onto a 1TB SSD I have. Without having to take a laptop with me.I wondered if this could read from a card and write to the SSD connected via USB (whilst connected to phone via USB-C). Another reviewer said it works so I took a punt.It works great. Both the card and the SSD show up in the Samsung Android File Manager and you can easily move or copy files. So well happy. Not massively speedy (about 25MB/s) but yet to do tests as to bottleneck, probably read speed of the micro-sd i tried.

Reassuringly solid feeling in hand, I think it's a metal housing. The cap fits very securely and won't fall off when it's in your pocket or laptop bag. The SD card fits in tightly, no wobble at all and the transfer speed is very high. There's a small blue LED discreetly placed to indicate that it's connected and transferring. It's a good size; not so small that you'll easily lose it, but not unnecessarily big. I transferred ~50GB of photos very quickly with no issues.The product is 5 stars, it's perfect and a good size, but there's so much plastic in the packaging I had to deduct a star - do we really need a plastic tray inside a plastic bag inside a plastic-coated cardboard box for this?

I have gone through several sd card adapters and needed a new one for my macbook. I hadn't used this brand, the feedback was good and the price was very reasonable.It arrived and I quickly downloaded all my holiday photos from my SD card onto my macbook, with no problems at all,.I do like the size of this adapter, it fits neatly into a zip case I have for these things without taking up any room.

Top notch build quality, solid high quality metal all around. features a full size usb, big sd card slot and a slightly redundant micro sd card slot (would've loved to see a different type of card slot there such as sony memory stick). this works wonderfully with my xperia xz2, couldn't ask for much more for the money.

The KiWiBiRD works well with my Macbook Pro which only has USB-C type slots. I've used it to transfer photos from my SD and micro SD cards without any issue. The adapter is well built and I have no doubt it will last for a while.The KiWiBird has the added avantage in that it has a female USB connecter allowing you to plug in USB devices as well.All in all very happy with my purchase.

I bought this card reader after the last one I had (from another company) broke and would no longer read my SD cards (as well as breaking one of them, gah)!As soon as I received this one I instantly felt that it was more weighted and wouldn't break as easily. As of now it's still working amazingly well and is high speed, so would definitely recommend.Great value for money.
