I have tried different types of products for paper/file organization, to include filing cabinets, banker boxes, and fabric filing boxes. Filing cabinets are too bulky, and normal home-sized ones don't offer enough space. Banker boxes are spendy, and I don't feel cardboard is completely protected against the elements, especially when living in wet/humid climates. Fabric filing boxes are the least durable of these options, can't be easily cleaned, and the fabric is easy to damage. They are also way overpriced for what you get. These plastic filing boxes are so awesome, and just what I needed. They come in a pack of 4, and are a good size. File folders move with ease, something that fabric boxes sometimes miss the mark on, and banker boxes don't have. The lids close easily and securely. They evenly stack for closet storage, or even better for my purpose, they are easily slid under a bed. I got the black ones, which may not be as visually appealing to some, but I did notice it isn't the only colored offered. I didn't really mind the black option, and it was less expensive as well. The price on these is a great deal, and after having purchased and used them, I would have gladly paid more for such a space efficient, high quality, and durable product. 5/5 would recommend. I received 2 day shipping, and the product arrived in perfect condition. If I find myself in need of more file storage, I know exactly what product I will be buying.

I love these totes but the last 2 times i ordered them they came broken and cracked - 3 of the totes and 3 of the lids Sad I wouldnot order again

The boxes are nice, but they come somewhat unprotected in a large box that is marked "fragile", but has no protection for the file boxes. As a result, I got 3 good ones and one broken one.

These are good, light and clear. I’m using them one for each of my kids artwork and other papers they’re creating through the years. One of the boxes was cracked during shipping. I think it’s poor handling from the delivery service and they’re not packed very well just a big box and some paper around it. I contacted the company if they could send me just 1 box since the other 3 and the 4 lids were fine. In 2 days I had a new set. I love that they did that. I had a bad experience a month ago with another seller where they shipped only part of the purchased order and I had to go through hoops to contact them and then they didn’t respond or care to make their mistake right. It was a mess, so I’m really happy with this seller. Things break, it’s nice that they responded and replaced my box with no fuss.

I have purchased several batches of these for a purpose other than file storage. If all you need them for is to keep your tax return info, that you only access once in a blue moon, they should be fine for that. If not read on. My use case is to transport 14" laptops to classrooms. They are a perfect size for that because I haul the laptops around in neoprene sleeves for protection, and they just fit in the boxes. I pack them into a vehicle, stack them in a cart, haul them into class, return them to the vehicle, then repeat about 3 times a week. I'm not too rough with them, but they last about 12 months before I they need to be replaced. Usually, the lids crack, or the box base cracks. It seems like, as time has gone on, IRIS has made them thinner and reduced the quality of the plastic from which they are molded. Generally, I accept that because they are water resistant, minimize wasted space, stack well, and I try to buy them on sale when less than $6 each. Although I continue to buy them, I only rate them as a 3 star: quality could be a lot better. Be aware that in the case of "sold and shipped by Amazon", Amazon does a poor job of packaging for shipment. As you can see from the photos, one of my 2 most recent shipments arrived broken, even though the box was not significantly damaged. One problem is that these things shatter easily with a slight impact. The major contributing factor, though, is Amazon ships them out without any additional packing, just in the boxes provided by IRIS. Check out my photo of the box - the cardboard is very thin, and not really suitable as a sole shipping container. There is a high likelihood that your order may be received damaged.

I'm so glad I bought these. They are very sturdy and made my organizing so much easier. I will purchase more when needed.

The boxes will work for what our needs are. They are a medium weight of plastic. We will be reordering a dozen more. FedEx driver placed a heavy box on it & the boxes took a tumble, 1 box & 1 lid cracked and broke. I called the vendor & he went over and above replacing the box & then some. I am sure if I drop it loaded they could break & shatter. Maybe not, plastic does degrade.

Perfect size for standard hanging folders. Nice that they’re stackable too. Lids feel a little flimsy but seem to be doing okay stacked.

Ordered these to create the school keepsake trend for my boys as we have 3 kids and BOXES of old school stuff. We need to start getting rid of stuff and slimming down and loved the idea of this trend. These bins were perfect size to accommodate the files and seems like there will be ample space for the boys to add each year. Love that they are stackable. I tried locking the lid of 2 and that part wasn't the best but was sufficient esp if stacking them. They feel sturdy and durable for the years to come.

I just sent a return, but changed mind, because too difficult for me to get it returned, BUT, I will tell you about the product I received - two of the boxes had pieces broken off. these boxes are NOT HEAVY DUTY, lids don't fit secure as stated. So disappointed. I will use two of the boxes for files, and the other two, I will use for things that are not as heavy.
