Excellent pedal
I am a recent convert to Behringer's products and I am impressed with the quality of their pedals for such relatively cheap and affordable prices. Even with my own `modest' guitar/amplifier/pedal board set-up the `NR300' makes a substantial difference. It is currently sat in the effects chain after the `UF300 Ultra Flanger' pedal and when powered on it drastically cuts the irritating and unwanted background hum that is otherwise present from the `UF300' (even at low volume). There are controls to alter the `Thresh' and `Decay' settings of the Noise Reducer and two specific modes of use are available - the `Reduction' that I use which, as referred to above, virtually silences any annoying noise, and `Mute', which, as it might suggest, cuts all signal once activated. Although I am still learning the guitar and am some distance from being competent enough to consider performing anywhere outside of my own living room, this particular pedal has made a big difference to myself when using my practice amp. Overall I believe this is a good value product and, for me, it does exactly the job I expected it to do.

Good noise reducer but needs a redesigned case
This device works well and does exactly what it is supposed to. As another reviewer has said, if you only use top of the range pedals and leads then you probably won't need one of these. However, my other 4 pedals are Beringer and the leads and power supply are Stagg, so I do need some noise reduction. So if I were giving out stars just on its performance as a noise reducer / mute pedal then it would be 5. But there are some niggles. Another point also raised by another reviewer is that the Behringer instruction leaflets do not cover all aspects of how to use the Send Receive loop to go across pedals. It's simple enough once you know but I recommend downloading the user manual for the Boss NS-2 which is essentially the same product. Their schematic shows how to connect up the pedal train including a reverb pedal and a tuner which is not explained by Beringer. Now for my gripe about the design of the case. All Behringer pedals have the input on the right and output on the left so that a pedal train signal will run right to left. However, the Send Receive loop connectors are in the same orientation so one has to have longer patch cords which cross over in order to fit the loop around the pedal train. If Behringer would just swap those two sockets then shorter patch leads could be used so reducing some unwanted noise and messy lead arrangements. Not something that should put you off buying it but just be aware you will need a couple of longer patch leads. In summary, a good product which at £15 was excellent value but some better instructions and a simple re-design would make it an excellent product.

An excellent, effective product.
This product is excellent. It does exactly as it promises to do and does it very well. It stacks up very well alongside the Boss equivalent noise reduction pedal (itself a great item but at a premium cost) for a fraction of the cost. It does not have a metal case but is certainly robust enough. If you look after your kit anyway this is not an issue since you will seldom need to switch it off. It surprises me when people talk about stuff getting wrecked - perhaps they don’t care about keeping kit serviceable. Behringer make some excellent and very affordable products, this being one. If you are looking for a noise reduce to calm down the noise from distortions and overdrives etc, this item will do it very well and you will save yourself the better part of £70. Just to say that as usual, Amazon are a fabulous company to deal with - item delivered barely 18 hours after the order.

Mmmm.... not good, in fact really bad.
Just doesn't do the job. Bought this to see if I could eliminate hiss from my Stratocaster but it simply made it worse. This company does make some good budget pedals but this is not one of them. I tried using 2 and 4 leads but nothing really worked and, in my opinion, the hiss was louder! I would not recommend this pedal to anyone except Satan.

Okay for the money
After almost two years with it, I can safely say it's okay, it does the job okay. The build quality isn't the greatest, which is expy with the price. It doesn't 100% reduce noise, but it helps reduce it. Though I am still getting a little noise (which might be caused by something coming after my noise gate, but I'm not sure). If you've got the money, I'd go for a higher noise gate, such as the Boss pedal this is copying. But in a pinch, it does the job. If you don't have as much money then again this would do the job. (I do plan to save up and upgrade to a higher end noise gate pedal)

Less noise, more sound :)
For the price of this pedal it shouldn't be this good. It's on par with other more expensive similar pedals. I chose this over some others because it has a send and recieve loop. Gate the noise early but set the threshold on how it sounds later in your signal chain. Best of both worlds, almost like having a gate at 2 points. The pedal has a reduction and a mute mode on it. I use the reduction mode because I find the mute mode works a little strange. In reduction mode you can turn the pedal off and it bypasses. In mute mode the pedal gates the noise when it's OFF and it mutes your guitar when it's ON. That is weird to me but I guess it could be useful for some players.

Unhappy with after-sales service
I like the product performance of Behringer pedals, but customer care is very poor. One pedal developed a fault which could not possibly have been wear and tear (input socket fault for a pedal which had remained in a fixed position, indoors), so under the relevant consumer law I politely asked them to replace the item, with my willingness to send in the item for inspection if necessary. They were really unhelpful because I don't have the order details (item was a gift), so this will be the last Behringer product I buy.

DON'T feel the noize.
The Behringer NR300 Noise Reducer Effects Pedal is one of those pedals that people like myself who buy too many effects pedals for their guitars end up buying. If you put your really high quality effects pedals together in the most correct order possibleand use only top quality connectors, you will possibly not need one of these. However, old stomp boxes that we get attached to and dodgy leads can make one of these an almost compulsory purchase. Put it in your effects chain before your delay or reverb pedals and after all the distortion and fuzz boxes and it will be at its best for you. It is NOT a sexy pedal in that it doesn't do superb audible things that the audience will pick up on, like a good wah pedal will. It IS however, the best way I know to stop everyone out front from giving you funny looks because all your pedals are noisy and hissy and sound horrible and amateurish. Make sure you use the correct output from this pedal and all will be well. I consider it a little money very wisely spent and it has averted many problems for me.

Unbeatable Performance and Value
The Behringer NR300 Noise Reducer is a game-changer for guitarists seeking top-notch performance without breaking the bank. Here's why it deserves a solid 5 stars: 1. Impressive Performance: - The NR300 effectively tames unwanted noise caused by high-gain effects. Whether you're shredding or strumming, it keeps your signal clean and pristine. - Comparable to the renowned Boss NS-2 pedal, the NR300 delivers near-identical noise reduction capabilities. 2. Unbeatable Value: - At its affordable price point, the NR300 punches well above its weight. You won't find a better deal for noise reduction. - It's a must-have for budget-conscious guitarists who refuse to compromise on quality. 3. Sturdy Build (with a Twist): - Yes, it's true—the NR300 sports a plastic exterior. But hold on! After thorough testing, we've found it surprisingly robust. - Think about it: How hard are you really stomping on your gear? The NR300 can handle regular gigging and studio sessions without flinching. In summary, the Behringer NR300 Noise Reducer combines stellar performance, unbeatable value, and a durable build. Don't let the plastic fool you—this pedal means business!

It WORKS.
THE GOOD: -It works. It actually works. -Threshold AND decay knobs make dialing in just the right amount of silence easy. -KILLSWITCH. This Mute switch is awesome. Flip it, now it's a killswitch. Very handy. -Send & return effect. This is pretty cool, but does no good for me since in my rig, I already have send & return THE BAD: -This thing is CHEAP. It is made of plastic, and is very light, so I wouldn't go dropping it off the back of a truck or anything. -NO POWER SUPPLY. There is no power supply that comes with this pedal, and finding out where the 9V battery goes is annoying and took me and my buddies about 15 minutes to figure it out. There are two little buttons at the hinge of the actual button of the pedal, you need to push both of those in with paperclips, or an AUX cable will do nicely (Search on YouTube "Behringer battery replacement." You'll find it). Very annoying and frustrating, and does not make for a quick switch at a gig. I am currently using this for my vocal rig to replace an expensive rack-mount dbx compressor and gate that just doesn't work properly anymore, and seems to generate noise of its own. This does fantastically. it DRASTICALLY reduces the buzz in the speakers to a point where we can actually play and not hear it throughout our playing. We cranked up the threshold so we have to be right on top of the mic to be heard through the speakers which is what we want, then we turn the decay up high so we can crank the PA without getting feedback in the mics after singing a line. This thing works, and it works well. I plan on getting on for my bass rig to act as a Killswitch AND a noise gate. Best of both worlds! Without breaking the bank, Behringer has done it again, and made a quality piece of electronics, and though they could have gone with a metal housing, I can't complain. For $25, come on. You'll probably mount it on your pedalboard and never touch it enough to remember it's made of plastic and not metal. This one's a win.

Super
