If only I had known about this YEARS!!! ago
I can't believe that I am almost 50 before finding this amazing little gadget. I have no underlying pain condition, but usually the 2nd day of my cycle was a whole day of severe pain that I could only alleviate with multiple hot baths, massage and if that wouldn't work eventually painkillers. I put the OVA device on as soon as my cycle started and played around with the settings for a bit. I would describe the sensation as a humming or tingling. I also managed to sleep with it on - just with a lower setting. The little (and it is little!) device comes with a holder that snaps onto your underpants easily. With vigorous activity it did come loose a couple of times. But just the fact that I was able to walk and move as much as I did was wonderful. I would say it lessened my pain from a 9/10 to a 1/10 and I did get used to the tickling sensation quite quickly. I used it pretty much continually for 2 days and the battery performed fabulously. My pain site is at the very bottom of my back and the pads stayed on perfectly during the duration.

Skeptic shockingly pleased! EDIT: Symptoms from device!
I'll start off this review by saying, I have extremely painful but light periods. I was taking Paracetamol and ibuprofen every 3 hours for 4 days straight every period. Luckily, I work from home and so every period was spent the first two days working from bed, popping pills and constantly reheating a microwave bear, with little to no relief from all of this. I decided that enough was enough and I needed to stop taking as many tablets as surely it was going to be detrimental to my health. This is when I purchased the TensCare Ova Plus. At first I was very skeptical as to whether this would work or not and to my surprise, it does! When my pain is at it's worst, I admittedly do still feel a little discomfort but such little to the point that I feel I can get on with my day, working around the house, running errands, just like any normal day, without any tablets. It is super easy to hide under clothes and easy to work around during toilet visits. If I went out to work, this little device would be essential for every day! The only annoying thing about this is, as you are wired up to your tiny little device, I still have to take a set of tablets before bed time as I do move around a lot in the night and would worry about damaging the device if I wore it overnight. Overall, If you are having periods that are as painful to the point of it disrupting your day, I'd definitely give this little fellow a go! EDIT: I would just like to add that I have removed one star from my original 5* review as after 3 months of usage I found an issue with using this device. I found that a day or two after the start of my period for three months straight I suffered from a urine infection which had to be treated with antibiotics all 3 times. On the fourth month I ate and drank the same as the previous months but did not use the Ova Plus at all. Surprise surprise, no urine infection and I haven't had one since stopping using this device. This may be something to just keep in mind if you find yourself with this issue.

Power packed little pain reliever
I bought this after getting sick and tired of constantly being put on painkillers each time i visit the doctor to ask about other pain relief methods, i have to say it certainly is different and it is helping a great deal. And this is coming from someone who is normally semi-permanently bed bound for a whole 7 day week+ each month. First time using it i was a little nervous as to what to expect of it, the tingling sensation isn't what i would call uncomfortable, but you can't help but notice it [certainly good for literally distracting you from your misery]. It really is easy to use, and the instruction booklet is simple and devoid of jargon and the device itself is a nice size, easy to slip into your pocket or clip onto lower clothing. The one and only little gripe i have to say about it is, that the device just sits/rests in the clip-holder and could easily be bumped out of said holder by accident if say the user was one to jog or run with it on. HOWEVER despite that, I really would recommend this little machine, to anyone looking for an alternative or a supplemental change to painkillers, its certainly has helped and is still helping me.

effective but faulty.
I have very painful periods were in the past i can spend the first three days curled up a ball sometimes, spend most the time in the bathroom and can throw up. This doesn't take the fall pain away but it does help with it and less medication is require but I have given this a two star due to the fact this is only my second period and the device is faulty and can't be charged therefore its not working which is not something you expect when you spend nearly £30. Amazon have been amazing as usual and are sending me a replacement out so I will change this review in due course once I've seen how the replacement one works for more than one use. EDIT: This would have been a 5 star review if the device continued to work. Amazon were great sending me the replacement in June but just 10 months later it's not working effectively anymore. The battery dies within an hour of on/off usage were as before I could use it on and off for 6 - 8 hours without that happening. Not good if you have endometriosis and need relief on and off during the night because it needs to be charged every hour which means you a.) basically don't sleep or b.) have brief relief for the shortest amount of time before being in agony again. Such a shame, maybe the company needs to look into the manufacturing of this product so it can last longer than 10 months before its basically useless. I may have to look into other products now to help. This product is very poorly made which is why it doesn't last.

Try it out! It might really help you!
It’s a lot smaller than I expected, super cute looking. Comes in a pink case too. It has definitely helped with my cramps on my lower tummy. I was a tad sceptical about it but thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to try it. Especially being only £30 compared to the Livia thats hundreds of pounds and advertised all over the Internet! Sometimes I’ll still get a cramp twinge but the device helps keep you distracted from it so it’s not half as bad as it would be without it. Lots of different strengths to the modes so you’ll be sure to find one that helps the most. It’s powerful considering how small it is. But you can find the right strength for you so you feel comfortable. Almost feels like a “Fizzy” feeling, a tad like pins and needles but not painful or annoying. Also warming. I haven’t taken any pain meds so far and I’m on the first day which tends to be the most painful for me. So far I’m very happy with purchase!! Everyone’s different though. I think it might work for others and some it might not. But I was willing to give it a go. So glad I did!

Great product but unfortunately does now relieve my cramps
I bought this due do having had enough of taking pills that do not touch my period pain. However I haven't found any relief using this machine. My cramps are so bad they make me vomit. Maybe they are too severe for it to have any effect? Looks like I'll just have to suffer! It may have been useful if there were 4 pads, 2 for lower abdomen and 2 for the back. I had to keep switching them or I tried with one front and one back, but with no relief. However this is a nifty little machine and is very discreet. I love that it's wireless. I have been using it for a recent flare up of sciatica and it works nicely, better than anti-inflammatories. I would recommend this product but not if your period cramps are severe (although everyone is different so this could work for you) and if you experience them simultaneously in the back and lower abdomen.

Complete recommend!!
I love this product!! I can't imagine day to day life without it now!! It comes with a little carry case which everything (apart from plug) to help get you started on a pain free day. The charge holds and does charge from dead to 40 mins!! Only issue is working out where to place the pads to get a pain free day. After a few trail areas you'll find exactly where they need to be and clipping the compact device. If you have a job that requires a lot of bending then on your knickers on your hip. It stops the wire from disconnecting from the device itself. The manual inside does give you a rough idea of where to put the pads. It also does recommendation settings too!! I'm so glad I have got this device!! I where it all day and I feel no pain!! To begin with was working out where best to place the pads and took the device but now it's a breeze!! I just stick on, power up and go!! I definitely recommend this product for anyone that suffers!!

Takes some getting used to, but seems to work
I get really bad period pain and wanted to try something different from painkillers. I was thinking of buying a Livia but wasn't keen on spending that much money on a device. This is significantly cheaper, so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't last so long (as some reviews here mention) and it's important to note that even Livia offer a subscription option where they replace your device every three years, so maybe these devices tend to not last very long anyway. The Ova+ is very small and light, but I've already managed to drop it on the floor and nothing happened, so it's not actually as flimsy as it looks. One annoying thing I've noticed already is that the "sleeve" with the clip the device itself fits into doesn't click, so the device is never quite secure in it and the device can easily fly off unless you're standing upright with the thing clipped into a pocket or the inside of your trousers. I might have to tape it to the clip to make it stay put. In fact, I can only imagine a man came up with the belt clip idea for the device, as the only way to wear it under a dress is by either clipping it onto your knickers or (which I haven't tried yet) tape it to your body with a plaster or tuck it into your bra. Alternatively, I guess, you never wear a dress while having PMS. As for pain relief - it does work, though the sensation it produces takes some getting used to, especially mode 0, which is the one the manufacturer claims is the most likely one to work for pain relief. It's a very weird sensation and mildly unpleasant (especially when you turn it up). You'll need to experiment with all different modes and intensities to find something that works. It switches on on zero intensity, which doesn't feel like anything. First time I used it, I didn't feel anything and assumed that was what the device did. You have to actually click the "up" button to make it start doing anything useful. Note that while the more expensive Livia claims relief is instant, the Ova+ doesn't make that claim and relief is not always instant. It can take up to 20 minutes to work.
