TotalBoat Wet Edge Topside Marine Boat Paint is an easy-to-use, 1-component, polyurethane marine grade paint that provides a beautiful, brilliant, resilient, high-gloss finish on hulls, cabin tops, consoles and other topside surfaces above the waterline. Use on fiberglass, wood, metals and previously painted surfaces in good condition. Provides excellent weather resistance so the finish retains its superior color quality and gloss. Once cured, the extremely durable finish will not fade, lift, crack, or peel. The high-solids content in Wet Edge makes it look better and last longer. It's also why you need to apply thin coats - 2 to 3 coats are all you need for long-lasting beauty and shine. Wet Edge gives you the high gloss and durability of a 2-part polyurethane without all the hard work. It's very easy to apply, has excellent flow out, and dries perfectly smooth. For best results, prime bare wood or previously painted surfaces with TotalBoat Premium Topside Primer. Use TotalBoat Dewaxer & Surface Prep as a solvent wipe to remove grease, oil and other contaminants. Wet Edge may be thinned with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 (brush/roll application) or xylene (spray application). Application temperature is 50-90 degrees F. Wet Edge is also compatible with non-skid additives and flattening agents for 1-component polyurethane paint. Compare Wet Edge marine paint for fiberglass boats to Interlux Brightside Polyurethane, Pettit Easypoxy and Pettit EZPoxy, Rustoleum Marine Topside Paint, Duralux Marine Paint and Epifanes Monourethane. Wet Edge offers superior durability, color retention, gloss retention, and weather resistance, which also makes it an ideal canoe paint, kayak paint, camper paint, rv exterior paint, or golf cart paint. For an excellent aluminum boat paint, use TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Topside Paint. Lays down like spray paint with a foam roller.

Transform you boat!
Super slick, super glossy. This paint will take your boat to the next level. Wet Edge is a one part paint and goes on thin. I put one coat of primer and two thin coats of Wet Edge. I would consider the roll (6โ foam) and tip (good paint brush) method. If youโre painting over no skid, just rolling works best. In fact, i ended rolling the whole project. I painted the top deck first, center console will be next. Turned my tired old 1994 Action Craft into a slick clean machine.

1 year looks good.
For inexpensive paint, it's pretty good. I thinned %10 with thinner. Rolled with foam rollers and it laid out flat, looks very good, pro even on fiberglass. Took a few weeks to fully cure as it was soft enough to scratch from a fuel tank at first, but it hardened up.

Follow Instructions and Get Near-Spray Quality Finish
First, I had never painted a boat and was dubious about reports of near-spray quality results with any of the boat paints. My boat is old so I figured anything would be an improvement. I chose Total Boat mainly because it was easier through Amazon. I mixed two parts Yellow with one part Fighting Lady. (Can't add pigment. You have to mix Wet Edge paint instead). I was amazed at the smooth finish of the final paint job. I think that it is 85% of a spray job. If I had thought that it would turn out this well I would have been more careful with the primer coats and prep. Advice: Painting outdoors is challenging. Each coat takes several days to dry and then you have to fight rain, humidity and temperature. I finished it in the garage and it was a snap. For me, the primer was really thick, went on with a lot of orange peel and it dried slowly, and it was clumping during sanding because I didn't let it cure (all problems were user error). When the primer was cured it was easily sanded down and may have helped with smoothing the fiberglass imperfections. The primer prep is he key to a quality paint job. Take your time here. The paint went on well. The first coat had some orange peel because I put it on too thick and didn't have a quality paint brush. It was remediated when I sanded it down (again, wait for it to cure!). I applied the last coat uncomfortably thin with tip and roll, and it turned out marvelous! It took 1 gallon of primer and about 1/2 gallon of paint for an 18' boat. Use a 1/8" foam roller (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0168S0ETE?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) for the areas you want to look perfect, and use a true badger hair brush (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000N9LE80?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1). It is worth the money for this task.
