My grand-daughter wants to play a musical instrument, so decided to start with a recorder. The Aulos 205a Descant recroder seems to be of good quality and the price was reasonable. I have not heard her play the recorder, yet, but I think she will work hard at learning it. The tone of the recorder is good. Her efforts at learning to play should not be too harsh on the ear. The Outfit contains a draw-string bag, a cleaning rod (without a sponge at the end) and a sheet showing the fingering for each note over the range of the recorder (about two octaves).

This recorder comes with a yellow drawstring case, a cleaner and a little music book to follow. Although this recorder isn't quite as good quality as the one I had back at school many years ago (I wonder where the school got those ones from as they were great!!) it is still far superior than the cheap plastic ones that are readily available. The sound is precise, accurate and can be as loud or quiet as you make it, it is very pleasant on the ear. The recorder feels lightweight and looks traditionally nice and shiny with the Aulos logo. The only negative I have is that it is slightly too easy for the top bit to twist around and also if your fingers aren't precisely on the holes especially on the lower notes you can produce a squeeky sound rather than the note you are after. However, if you are simply buying a recorder for your child's school recorder lessons this one is more than adequate and you won't be disappointed.

Now, I dont know anything about recorders but used the reviews to buy this one as my daughter is about to start recorder lessons at school. What I can say is that I was very pleased that the product description matched exactly what I received. The recorder looks good quality and sounds very good to my amateur ears. The cover protects the recorder and it is good to have a cleaning rod too. I am very happy with my purchase and I think the price is very reasonable too.

Bought for my 7 yo daughter for school recorder lessons. Great recorder and nice quality but disappointed that it didn’t come in the corduroy bag - which would make it feel even more like the one I once used many moons ago.

My son required one for his school music class and this has been perfect. It comes in a soft cloth case. He said the most other children in the class had the same one as him and he’s happy with it.

J'avais eu la même en entrant en classe de sixième... Et je l'ai toujours ! Celle-ci, je l'ai achetée pour ma fille de 4 ans qui voulais apprendre la flute, avec la même que maman c'est plus simple ! Et ça reste sans doute la meilleure flute "plastique" du marché. Plus tard nous passerons peut-être au bois, à moins qu'elle ne s'aventure, comme moi, vers du cuivre.

I love my inexpensive Aulos soprano. It provided me with a perfect instrument to learn and follow all of the lessons Sarah Jeffery has on YouTube, so I am now enjoying my music immensely. I play it many times daily, often for a couple of hours at a time. I have bought several recorder books and my recorder has met all of the needed features. Not to say I wouldn’t like more recorders to experience sound changes, but this one will always go everywhere with me.

Love the sound of this recorder. I have gone thru a 1/2 dozen of cheap plastic ones, so I thought I'd give it a try. Quality and easy to clean a plus. Love this! Will buy again!
