Excellent product
I've had one of these for years, got tired of shuffling it between my computer bag, home and camping gear so just ordered 2 more. Pros: ++ Small tweezers and its little 'tube' case make it a convenient companion in ANY situation ++ Pin-point tips have always been able to confidently snag and remove any splinter, tine, etc ++ The tips are strong ++ No rust, metal fatigue or any other evidence of wear / age after years of use Cons: ++ If you have nasty cactus tines in your skin you'll need larger, separate pliers to remove 'em ++ Largely "fit for purpose" for removing splinters My last point underscores my perception that this product is best suited, for the most part, to remove splinters, et al. I have several other forms of tweezers for home / hobby use and have never considered using these as an alternative, given its small size. Having said *that*, I'm not really complaining since I bought this pair of tweezers precisely for its excellent utility in removing splinters. Regarding my point about needing pliers, its worth noting that cactus tines (e.g., from Cholla cactus) can be large and deep, and though I hope you never experience this yourself if you get such tines embedded in your skin you'll need heavier tools (e.g., a Leatherman pliers) to extract them. These tweezers w/b would then be useful for little bits left behind (ouch!).

Great splinter tweezers.
These are so tiny which is great for travelling or for everyday carry. They are super sharp and strong enough to grab onto a splinter. I used to use a small needle to poke and pry out a splinter but these work the same but can also grab the sliver. Keep them in a case or order the tweezers with the little carry bottle to avoid unintended pokes.

A Must for Woodsmen
Great tool for woodcutters & metal workers. Tweezer tip is fine for those hair splinters & metal slivers one seems to always get around the shop or wood pile. The tube that came with this item can double as a container to put a bit of disinfectant in to sterilize the tweezers. The size is good to include in a car bag kit. This item doesn't have the key chain attachment included. Recommend it strongly for inclusion in a first aid kit where space is a premium. BTW; I've seen the key chain model carried on our Military member's dog-tag neck chains overseas. 22APR2013: Had to buy another because of friends begging for it! Great small box stuffers for those giving out gifts. This one came requiring fining up the point. Used wet/dry paper om a popsicle stick. This is the keyring model.Hangs on work ring without taking up space. Like I poseted before; great for splinters but not for deep wound frag removal.

The Best Set of Tweezers bar none!
I've used my first pair of Uncle Bill's tweezers for at least twenty years now and still works like it just came out of the box..tube! As a cabinet maker and carpenter, I have depended on my trusty Uncle Bills for a couple of decades without problem. Many tweezers on the market that are even more costly cannot stand up to the wear and tear of these. The steel mused is very hard and the points of the tweezers if you look under magnification are so sharp. When musing, they get at the sliver without pulling a lot of skin off the area. The only problem I have had is when one of my men have asked to use them. I usually have to go looking for them because they get the job done! Lately I have ordered additional pairs for my backpack as well. The tweezers come in their own plastic tube and a metal screw top. I always keep the pointed end up against the metal top so as not to punch a hole though the plastic tube. Once you have tried Uncle Bills, you will want to go out and get your own splinters just to see how good they are! I don't suggest you do that though. Buy a pair; you won't be disappointed!

Lower Quality than they used to be
I had a have a pair of these tweezers for the past 10 years and I was absolutely in LOVE with them. Unfortunately, I lost them about 2 weeks ago. So, I ordered 4 replacements (2 in the tube and 2 keychain). I don't understand what happened to the quality of these tweezers. Yes - these WERE 150% the BEST tweezers ever created. What I got: First of all, my original pair had a metal top (like in the picture), and writing on the tube. What I received, had no tube writing, and a weird plastic top that doesn't really fit nearly as well or look as quality (first warning of quality depletion). Second, they are SO much thicker at the point, giving considerably less gripping-ability for a "precision point" that they're claiming. The ones I used to have were so thin at the point, and sharp enough that you could poke yourself with them and it could puncture the skin surface - which you need when digging out splinters successfully. These are overall much more blunt at the end, not as sharp pointed as my old ones, thus NOT as precision. Don't get me wrong - overall, I mean, they're still very good tweezers. They look just like the photo, they're small, they're comfortable to hold. And one pair was DEFINITELY closer to what I was expecting. But still.... the quality is not the same as it used to be, which was really surprising; I'm hoping I just got a bunk group or something. Super disappointed.

Compact and well made
I needed a good quality pair of tweezers for my first aid kits. This product is compact and is fine enough for slivers. Should be good for tick removal although I have still plucked them by hand. The protective case is a plus to prevent them from puncturing other items in my kit.

We've Always Had a Pair in Our House
I grew up having a pair of these in the house. My mother used them. Her parents had them. They take out splinters, great for plucking, and many other home and beauty uses! They have a very fine nose, and our family, with a variety of hand-sizes, has never had a person complain about holding them. My mother had the same one for years until they were lost. I was so glad to find these on Amazon.com! I bought some for myself, too! I have never found a better tweezer and will continue to buy this brand as long as it is available!

Great tweezers... horrid little storage container... grrrr...
I really love the tweezers. Perfect for splinters without taking up a lot of space. However, 1 docked a star for the storage container. The lid is one step up from aluminum foil. I have yet to successfully put the cap back on without cross threading with the loose fitting threads. Uncle Bill would do a lot better with a simple tube with a plastic stopper.

Le must
Le must de la pince à écharde. Utilisée à plusieurs reprises : efficacité redoutable. A tel point que ma grande fille chez qui ce type de pinces a beaucoup servi dans son enfance m'en a demandé une pour elle.
