Is there enough to paint a 6 x 3 feet gate?

I'm not to sure as I bought it to refurbish some iron door furniture and used the rest to paint my hanging baskets and brackets.To be on the safe side, I would go for the 500ml tin as it seems to store well and is always useful.Hope this helps.Regards, Barrie Woods.

Is this oil or water based please?

This is oil based - So brushes need to be cleaned either in white spirit or some other propriety brush cleaner. This is an excellent paint with really good dense coverage. You need to stir the paint first but this is easy as it is a comparitively small tin. This is my paint of choice for painting external metalwork black. Generally speaking I find spirit based paints to be more robust outside than water based varieties.
