Surprisingly effective
I read this after my manager recommended it, and was impressed. It is very, very simple, but really makes you think. Unlike other self help books it isn't weighted with loads of psychology, nor is it claiming to fix everything. It accepts that some people won't find it useful - which I found a refreshing change from all the "we have the answer" books and people out there! But it made me sit up and take notice, and think a few things through. I've started recommending it to friends. If you are feeling indecisive, suffering setbacks or just in need of some direction, I'd recommend this book. The one thing I would add though is that perhaps if your setbacks are really serious it won't help: it has a very optimistic message of being in control of your own destiny, but sometimes that just doesn't happen!

Simple story, powerful message
It's a very short read, but the message is surprisingly impactful. Perfect for teenagers or young adults going through life changes. It's not a deep dive into psychology or business strategy, but that's exactly what makes it so accessible. The ideas are easy to understand, memorable, and practical enough to apply straight away.If you're going through a period of change or simply want a quick, thought-provoking read, I'd definitely recommend it. It's one of those books that's worth revisiting every few years as your perspective changes.

I like cheese.
I was initially sceptical, this book had been banded around our office along with the latest buzz words and trends but, having had a tough few years and quickly approaching a job review where nobody particularly knows what will happen I thought why not give it a try.I found the book to be incredibly motivating and it has spurred me on no end, it alone will not change your attitude.. nothing can do that, you have to want to but it's a brilliant start.I can't recommend highly enough, I think some of the negative reviews on here have focused on the fact it is easy read and almost childlike in its style - both true however personally I feel the message behind it is incredibly valuable and people of all statuses/levels could relate to it and see people as the characters involved. It took me around 20 minutes to read.. what do you have to lose?

read for work
Forget leading a horse to water, this book tries to waterboard it.I liked the cheese/maze story enough, it was a bit too tell not show, but it was good. The story really could have been cut down a bit. It was also a bit too manifestationy for me.The other story, the one that introduces and then dissects the maze one, was where it lost me. It was really too much. Itโs like he didnโt trust people to think.
