11-Foot Docking and Charging Cable for The iSimple GateWay - Frustration-Free Packaging - Black

I added this on my 2005 Honda Accord navigation with the aux connection. I paid a shop to add this and after a year it brought so I went on YouTube to find out how to DIY and did it by buying this. Works good and it's super long (11 ft) were it reaches the back seats from the front. Either way it's a good product. It plays & charges the iPhone 4. As of now they don't make the connection for the Lightning cable for the car to navigation so I had to buy an Apple Lightning to 30 pin cable. So by having the added cable I play my iPad mini/iPhone 5,6 with this iSimple charging cable. It took me about an hour to complete the job. It was easy and be careful not to break your trim parts. Good look and look at YouTube videos.

Worked fine as a replacement for the original cord, though I am back buying another one after about 2 years because this one got frayed over time and now intermittently works.One thing to be aware of. The plug on the iPhone end is slightly fatter than the Apple standard charger cable, so it doesn't fit snugly if you have a case on your phone that doesn't have extra clearance. I had to get an adapter to make it fight tightly enough to reliably work. It worked fine with the rubberized cases though that had more play in them, but the hard plastic shell cases may give you trouble with this cable.Update: I just got the replacement and installed it and it seems they have updated this cable. It now fits in my iPhone without the need for the adapter, added a fuse, and the cable is much heavier and less likely to fray like the old one. Adding an extra star. Definitely recommend the new version without reservation.

The original lasted almost 8 years. I hooked it up before routing it & worked as desired. I dinged it on durability as the 30 pin connector failed with a short. The installation rating probably isn't fair as it's dependent on the car. I would second another reviewers comment about the "Lightning" connector. But the reality is that almost ALL after market lightning adapter cables are crap & either don't work at first or die quickly.

This review is for the ISPDC11 model. The cable is very thick compares to the previous version and comes with a big companion box. Be sure that your car has room to fit the box and big enough to run the cable out without drilling a hole somewhere. It was very hard to install and fit this device behind my console because of its footprint. The 11-ft cable is long enough to run to the back of your car and come back to the front seat. What I do not like about this device it that the connector to my iphone seems to be too short, it always get disconnected when you touch or the car hit a pot hole and then the music stops playing. You have to reconnect the ipod/iphone when it happens and you have to select a playlist or a song again while you are driving which is a distraction to your driving (I preferred not to get myself killed for the sake of music). On top of that my iphone always keeps saying that the device is not compatible with the iphone which you have to do the disconnect and re-connect again. Once that happen you cannot use the car controller to change the song, you can only do it on the ipod/iphone itself. I am very desperated and disappointed since I cannot enjoy my music without dealing with the hassle or trying to get myself killed on the road.

I ordered this cable, a direct replacement of the one I had before, but what I received was of a heavier gauge and had an adapter in the middle. I installed it and everything worked properly. Less than 24 hours later, it completely fried my phone as it was insanely hot to the touch! Apple replaced my phone for free and Audio Kraze send me the right one with a day. Now everything has been perfect.

There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said in another review, but I will keep this short and sweet.- This cable is for the Gateway and Gateway SAT system ONLY. It will NOT work for the PXDP/Soundbyte system.- This cable contains a "fuse box" like module halfway down the cable, which the original units did not have, but the cable still works (check my upload pic).- The cable is noticeably thicker than the original and I have hopes that will hold up better than the original... We'll see.All in all, you can't beat the price. If you're experiencing issues with your cable just buy this one and swap it out.UPDATE - My cable stopped working within 24 hours and I had it professionally installed. Dropping 3 stars.

I gave this rating simply because there is a little bit of deception between the picture and the actual product received. Approximately 12 inches down/away from where the cable plugs into the Gateway, there is a 1"X1.5"X2" fuse box that is missing from the picture. The product works as described, installation is easy, however, I do believe that if one is going to make a profit from selling this docking cable he or she should at least display an accurate picture of the product.

As others mentioned before, this cable is for the GATEWAY system.I bought this cord because the original one that was included when I purchased the gateway system for my car completely came apart at the end and had wires sticking out that would spark when it touched metal. So I obviously had to get a new one.Thankfully, this cable is a lot more sturdy and durable than the original one. It's thicker and has more protection around the area where the cord and the piece you plug into your phone meet (which is what came apart on the original I had). Plus it was easy to install and was completely compatible with my gateway system.Not sure why the original cables were so cheaply made, but it was obvious by looking at its materials. Sometimes it wouldn't even fit properly in my phone.The new cord fixes all of this. Like some others mentioned, it has this box attached to the cord that seemed weird because it didn't come with my original one, but I've been using it a week now and it hasn't caused any problems. I just wish this cord had come with the original one.
