It all depends what private areas, after all its a body scrub exfoliating. I suppose it wouldn't hurt if your gentle, it might make your eyes water

Does it remove dry, flaky skin from the legs well?

Yeh I had dry skin and it helps to really smoothe them, only thing I would say is don't use this after you've shaved your legs. And if you do have sensitive legs use it in small amounts at first, I have sensitive skin and they were a bit red after first couple goes with the salt scrub. Hope this helps!

can i use this after i applied body wash or does this clean as well?
