Are some of these duds? I've just opened the first pack, and after 30 mins, they're barely lukewarm.

Fortunately the last box my wife used had no issues with lasting for quite a long, I've bought these on several occasions in the past and don't remember my wife having any complaints. Hopefully its not an issue after this occasion.

No, they are one use articles. But you can stop the reaction by sealing the warmers airtight (simple plastic zip-bag for example). Without oxygen the warmers will cool down within minutes. Then you can take them out the next day and they will heat uo again. But once the total heating tim of 12 hours is spent they won't heat up again. Pleas note sealing them in a plastic bag is never 100% air tight. Therefore overall heating time may be less than the 12 hours in total. You can use them for example approx 4 hours on day then seal them airtight. Take them out the next day and they will heat uo again and last for several hours. After a few days this will not work anymore because the sealing is not 100% airtight and the warmer will be consumed. After use please put it in the normal household bin.
