Spitfire Woodcraft Construction Kit FSC

This was purchased for my son as part of his school project, looking at WWII. The instructions were quite clear, I know some people previously have had difficulty figuring it out but it really is very simple. The plane fitted together very well all apart from 1 piece which made the left wing sit slightly askew, this was easy to modify and adjust. Once built the plane felt quite sturdy. The tail panels needed a dab of glue to keep them in place and aslo so did the cockpit beams but this was mainly due to the plane being suspended from the cieling by them. Great value for money and fun building. Highly recommended for overall satisfaction and price, you can't go wrong

I purchased the spitfire for my daughter's school project. I am not going to lie, it was a bit difficult to assemble but I enjoyed the challenge. I also found a you tube video on it so I was able to slow down the speed & follow it luckily as there were no instructions, it just said look at the picture and assemble lol. Plus no numbers to follow on this one as some have mentioned. I had to leave the bits for the underneath back end, didn't have time to glue that part in but who is going to see that! Overall my daughter & I really enjoyed this esp painting it. It's very good value for money considering how much some of these toys can cost these days. We are even looking at others to purchase!

Arrived with the usual speedy delivery service that one has come to expect from the Amazon experience. However, I suspect the credit goes to Quay Models of Blackpool, who probably sent the item direct. A number of your reviewers express concern over the lack of comprehensive instructions with the kit. To me, that is one of its attractions. It was like 3 dimensional chess, or "construct by numbers". If you follow the plan number sequence, no problem. But if you try and cut corners by jumping a few numbers, you will trip up big time because you can't add pieces out of sequence. You will then have to undo back to where you deviated from the plan, and start again. And if you've glued the out of sequence pieces, all will be lost! The plan is well presented and logical, and printed on nice glossy paper. (I liked the irony of the instructions also being printed in German: ACHTUNG SCHPITFIRE!!) Equally, the plywood used for the model is of excellent quality. I have left it 'au naturel', suspended over my desk in a 30degree left bank. Will Quay's next model be a Lancaster bomber?

What a great model ! Easy to build ,cheap ,fun ,responsibly sustainable resource and looks a treat . seriously any one with any doubt about these kits don't worry,pick one up and you will love it . I would even plan to sneak a few into stockings for imaginative ,constructive and Inspirational .

Nice kit but doesn't come with step by step instructions on how to build. Was bought for a much older gentleman with the intention for him to build it and paint it but the only instructions are a QR code on the front of the box that takes you to a video showing you how to assemble and it plays unclear and too fast. A shame because it's otherwise a great little activity and has an extensive range of items to build but please PLEASE include some paper instructions so a pensioner can also enjoy this toy

Happy with product although not finished it yet

It comes in two sheets of some sort of balsa/ply wood and a picture sheet with instructions This is all you need but its very flat so looks a little underwhelming if given as a gift (Which mine was). But that being said its a great gift! And a lot of fun to put together! The instructions are basically just numbers that tell you which parts of which pieces go together. Only take out each piece as you use it or the instructions wont be helpful- you start at 1 and go from there. This is pretty easy to follow with the occasional struggle to find the next number and sometimes you have to think about which way around it has told you to put the pieces together. But this isnt difficult either you pay careful attention to where the numbers are or most of the time just use comon sence.

Its good it was annoying when we tried to make it but it was a great gift the string supplied didnt work well so we used copper wire but it looks really nice
