Battery life is excellent, and the fact that it can also run corded if needed is a great bonus. Things to Note for Best Performance & Longevity: My barber stressed how important regular cleaning is. I make sure to frequently brush out the cutting bars using the included cleaning brush to keep performance optimal. I also purchased Wahl shaver oil and apply a very small amount to the cutting bars regularly. This keeps friction with the gold foils to a minimum, helping preserve both performance and foil integrity. Anything more than a light touch could damage the thin gold foil and affect shaver performance, all you need is a light touch against the grain of growth and the hair vanishes.

Wahl Vanish is a dry-only, cord or cordless design that is simple, reliable and easy to clean -- The exact opposite of modern, consumer-grade junk offered by Braun (as a result of the 2005 acquisition by Proctor & Gamble). While I loved my pre-2005 Braun foil shaver, which was dry only and had separate foil and cutter, I absolutely hated my experience with the modern Braun wet/dry shavers that use a cassette that combines the foil and cutter. P&G adapted the disposable Gillette razor model to Braun and ruined the product in the process. Out of sheer frustration with Braun, I sought out options for an alternative and landed on the Wahl Vanish. I could not be happier. It is well built with separate cutters and foils. Cleaning between shaves takes seconds and the quality of the shave is damn near razor close. Plus, Wahl remains headquartered in the U.S. AND they still assemble some portion of the razor here. Takeaway... The Wahl Vanish is the best foil shaver I've owned and I've been using them for more than 30 years. Highly recommend.

This is a great electric shaver that gives a smooth, close shave. It doesn't irritate the skin and most importantly for me it doesn't rip the hair from your face. I only shave every 3 or 4 days and it takes off that growth perfectly. I recently purchased a Braun Series 7 and it was just too painful to use. It rips the hair from your face. I threw it away after 3 weeks. This shaver is perfect for me, it is small and lightweight, takes up very little room when you travel and fits great in your hands. Battery life is perfect. I an take it on trips without needing to bring the cord and it lasts and lasts. For the price it may just be the best shaver on the market right now.

I bought this because I shaved the side of my head for a high and tight. I have extremely thick hair and I am OCD so I have to keep it smooth. This razor does the job without the pressure others require so I don't burn my scalp. Since the top is longer and doesn't go into the foils, it is easy to shave up to the lines and have a clean line.

Very good so far. You get what you pay for. Use this for my head and it shaves great with no irritation. Not too heavy and works just right for my purposes. Plenty of power and cut right through my hairs. Remember this is made for daily upkeep, don’t wait 3-4 days between shaves and expect a foil shaver to be able to knock down long hairs. And keep it clean between shaves. Also keep in mind, you’re buying a quality shaver, so don’t cheap out when you buy replacement foil and blades. I’ve used different foil shavers and I can tell you that not all foil and blades are created equal, so the experience I got with this shaver would likely not be as good with a cheap replacement foil and blades.

Crazy razor burn. Even without pushing or forcing things. Leaves a lot of thic beard hairs randomly scattered. You have to do the same area multiple times so the razor burn gets even worse. Maybe better for regular hair, not beard

Comfortable and most effective. This is my 2nd Wahl shaver. I use it for beard shaving only and I am a regular shaver. A little practice and it will give a clean shave more than Gillet 5 blade which I was using since decade. The only down side is under chin which requires a little more effort. You can ask Gemini or download from Google regarding tips and tricks of using Wahl professional 5 star shaver and get idea to use the shaver effectively. Regarding battery 5 days of 10 minutes use has consume one bar out of 3 which I think can last for 12 to 15 days on a single charge which is more than sufficient. During my search the other online stores showing higher prices but only Amazon made it to a reasonable price band. It is definitely an original product. Amazon is doing great. Definitely this is an investment with the price. But one should carefully use and maintain regularly as the the foils are thin.
