BIG IDEA DESIGN Slim Click Pen (Machined Raw)

I like this "classic" better than the dual side model. The adjustment mechanism to fit various refills has been updated and is much improved. Coating has proven resilient and looks very professional. Happy to keep giving these guys my money, but let's be honest: at this price point, these are luxury items. incredibly well-made and flawlessly functional luxury items. Will still raise a modest objection to the name, though - these do not generate a tactile or audible "click," at least not by my definition. If a snappy click is important to you, this might not be your jam.

This pen is basically it for anything you can think of except for one big problem that ultimately had me move on from the pen. The click is silent and that makes it feel mushy and undefined. There’s no tactile feedback when you’ve cleared the click point, so you have to slow down and fully depress and release every time. If you can get past that, this is probably the best pen from BigIDesign’s catalogue as it’s slim, capless, and you can adjust the refill extension mechanism by turning the click mechanism on the top, no extra tool required unlike the slim bolt action pen.

Success: This pen accommodates the Mont Blanc rollerball refill. It requires the pen to max out the pen’s capacity to do so. My only complaint is aesthetic: the tip of the refill when deployed sticks out about 0.5mm farther than I’d prefer. Happily the tip does fully retract. Otherwise, this pen performs excellently. Note: The LeGrand refill is too large in diameter to fit in the pen. I recommend getting this pen if it’s within your budget. It is a high quality, substantial feeling pen that is a “sleeper.” You can have whatever luxury pen experience you want without having the risk of ne'er-do-wells trying to steal your pen nor the hundreds of dollars in pen bodies from said luxury pen manufactures. Only the cool people will recognize this pen, and that’s because they have one or a variation of one too. My next one will be the one with the cap, likely in copper.

Worked great at first, now the mechanism binds even when oiled. The pens from this company are just garbage.

I’ve had multiple bid idea design pens, they are always quality and I use them daily, adapts to fit any refill I buy, adjustable tip, the finish did start to fade off though.

First, absolutely love it after a month of use. It's my daily go to. The only problem is that with the design so accommodating to a variety of refills, you also sacrifice on a tactile level. If you use a longer refill, you lose the "clickiness" in the action, and the pressure to actuate increases significantly.

In no way, shape, or form does this pen feel like it is worth $100. It is far too light to feel premium. The spring is so wide that refills start to slide into it. The refill also rattles around inside while retracted. Do not waste your money on this pen. Get a tactile turn instead.

It has a nice weight to it. It’s easy to switch out ink refills. It has accepted every type I’ve tried so far. I have a g2 1.0 Bold refill in at the moment and it’s great.
