Starting a mealworm farm.
great way to start your own farm to help feed the birds, only too many so the birds have had an early feast. Better than the dried mealworms. IF we dont feed them they will disappear from our gardens, and then I would miss the dawn chorus.

always excellent quality and fast service.
This company supplies the best quality mealworms I have bought. I discovered the mealworms thrive on tetra pond sticks which keeps them in excellent condition for much longer and less messy.

Fresh and active
Very responsive seller. Always dispatches almost immediately. The mealworms are very active and I feed them on lettuce so they don’t die. The birds flock to my garden. I hear them announcing replenishment of my feeder and can barely wait until I leave the vicinity. Unfortunately the corvids take a lot but because the 1kg bags are such great value there are plenty for all along with suet pellets and sunflower hearts. These little worms give me such pleasure.

A feast for garden birds!
My little garden birds absolutely adore their mealworms every day, especially the robins, bluetits and sparrows. However, once the starlings and magpies discover them, they will need protection as the big birds gobble up everything faster than I can refill bowls. The big birds do get a ration of them as well in different feeders. Everyone gets their treats! (Pigeons and squirrels will not eat them as they prefer seed and nuts). It is costing me a fortune and I’m not sure how sustainable this is as my tiny garden looks more like an aviary. I think all the birds in my neighbourhood are inviting everyone they know to the party! Even 4 pairs of robins seem to have organised a rota so they don’t attack each other! The mealworms are always packaged extremely well and arrive quickly and healthy. Sometimes they are big and other times they are tiny or a mixture of both. I keep them in a plastic vivarium tank and feed them crushed weetabix and porridge oats. For hydration they love sliced apples and pears. I also give them a sprinkling of Nutrigrub so the birds are supplemented with calcium. I tend to pick out the biggest ones with tweezers and store those in the fridge for feeding the birds with and allow the smaller ones to grow bigger at room temperature. I highly recommend these mealworms and seller.

How to Keep Your Mealworms Alive & in Best Condition!
I have been purchasing these mealworms for 5+ years and never had any issues, they are always received fresh and of a prime size to ensure that they will last at least a month when provided with a diet that allows them to grow and literally double the amount and weight of your purchase, and that is the reason why so many people complain of having received as they assume they do not have to feed them. When you receive your mealworms decant them into a large tray/bucket (dependent upon weight ordered) feed them with ‘hard’ vegetables like carrots, sliced swede, parsnip batons, sliced apples, pears, watermelon skins, pineapple skins and if absent of any of the aforementioned then use sliced potatoes. Mealworms also benefit from the addition of cardboard egg boxes which they will use to group in and eat. Along with vegetables a dry food is also required to extend their life and bulk them up. That dry food is flaked bran which can be obtained from supermarkets or health stores very cheaply. It should also be noted that live mealworms produce waste which needs sieving from their storage container to ensure live healthy mealworms and a clean storage area. A dry cool storage place is also advisable to prevent premature metamorphosis to pupa and beetle. Follow the above instructions above and you will save money, double the weight of your stock, the birds will love fat large worms and your mealworm stock will last longer!

Smaller than expected but ok
The mealworms were at the 20mm end of the 20mm to 30mm size range ordered. They came with a fine powder that may be bran and had thin white paper in the bags. The wild birds were happy with them.
