Shea Moisture Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Apple Cider Vinegar & Niacinamide 13oz

This shampoo does an incredible job of calming an itchy, flaky scalp without completely stripping your hair of its natural moisture. The apple cider vinegar formula gives it a deeply refreshing, clean feeling that thoroughly removes product buildup from the roots. It leaves your hair feeling surprisingly soft and manageable, and the scent is nice and clean without being overwhelmingly vinegary.

My spouse struggles with bad dandruff and this has helped reduce it so much. It doesn't cure it all the way, but keeps mild-bad dandruff under control. We do a medicated shampoo once a week or every other week, and use this the rest of the time, and that has worked super well. It's not super runny like other medicated shampoos I've used, and lathers up pretty well.

This shampoo exceeded my expectations. It leaves my scalp feeling clean and refreshed while keeping my hair soft and moisturized. The apple cider vinegar formula has a pleasant scent, lathers well, and rinses out easily without leaving any residue. My hair feels healthier, looks shinier, and is much easier to manage after each wash. Great quality for the price—I would definitely purchase this shampoo again.

So I am actually using both the shampoo and conditioner, and so far, these products seem to be helping my issue. I randomly got this very, VERY dry flaky spot on the upper part of one of my sideburns maybe the size of a dollar coin. I truly had (and still have) no idea what it was or if it was even related to dandruff, but decided to try a couple of anti-dandruff shampoos (i.e. Head & Shoulders, and Selsun Blue) which both failed. Then I found this product along with the conditioner, and decided to try it out. At the time of writing this, tomorrow will be a week using these products together and already I am seeing GREAT improvement; the flakes have significantly decreased to where none actually fall when I scratch (which most definitely was not the case for weeks) and the itchiness also is ~95% better. Additionally, I have noticed a great feel to my hair (I have thick, straight, course hair for anyone interested in knowing), and while I do keep it short most of the time, it grows fast so I can still feel the difference. It seems softer and definitely feels clean. Lastly, my biggest worry was the apple cider vinegar considering I HATE the smell of vinegar, but it is actually very mild, and overall the scent is nice. So to anyone also considering that, this definitely does not have a vinegar scent to it. I definitely recommend, even to those not suffering with dandruff; The ingredients seem pretty good and it is helping my hair, not just my scalp.

I like that SheaMoisture Anti-Dandruff Shampoo uses natural ingredients and feels gentle on the scalp. It has a pleasant scent and doesn’t dry out my hair like some medicated dandruff shampoos. However, while it helped reduce itching, it didn’t completely eliminate my dandruff even after consistent use. It works okay for mild dandruff, but may not be strong enough for more stubborn flakes. Overall, it’s a decent option if you prefer a more natural formula, but results may vary.

I was lucky enough to get to try out the SheaMoisture Anti-Dandruff Conditioner. I didn't have the accompanying shampoo but used one that also has apple cider. I get really itchy scalp in the winter no matter what I do. I've used Head and Shoulders as well as various other brands that claim to combat itchiness and although they do work for the most part, it doesn't take care of it completely. After using the conditioner and having good results, I decided to buy the matching shampoo and I couldn't be happier. I have long hair that isn't thick but isn't really thin either. I stopped dyeing my hair about 7 years ago so it's unprocessed. I only recently started using products outside of shampoo and conditioner and started blow drying for volume instead of letting my hair air dry like I used to. When applying this, I concentrated on the scalp and when rinsing, let it run through the ends of my hair. My hair and scalp felt soft and clean. As far as fragrance, I couldn't detect any myself. Any scent it has is very mild. It makes my hair look and feel great and there is less itching. I would purchase again.

Was very disappointed with this shampoo. Purchased two bottles; one for daughter and her relaxed her and one for myself with natural 4c hair. States it’s sulfate free but both of our hair was so dry and stripped-feeling that I can’t believe it bares this brands name! My daughter told me that she felt she’d “messed up her hair” is was so harsh. Although I detangle and section my hair prior to shampooing it STILL made my hair tangle up into a stripped and tangled mess. The conditioner helped do fixed the tangles but I WILL KEVER USE THIS SHAMPOO AGAIN! Sadly, I’m stuck with both bottles because the return window closed l. I will use it to clean around the house so I don’t waste my money. I’m sure it will scour greasy stains and dirt on surfaces, judging by what it did to our hair.
