Wow! I love this raffia! I cut open the compressed plastic & pulled out one bundle & smelled it! It smelled so fresh! I gently started to open the bundle up so it looked more like an oval, then I read that it’s best to let it rest for 24 hours or so before using it. Not a problem as I’m going to use it to make pine needle baskets & the raffia will be used to sew the coils of needles together. The natural color is why I didn’t want to use regular embroidery thread, I wanted it to be made with all natural materials. The versatility is varied because I’ll probably have to split the wider strands to about thick thread width. The sewing pattern I want to use, splits the raffia even further in the design. It will be easy to split it during assembly of the basket. This is strong stuff & it looks so good - natural color & smells great too! (If you like the raffia smell!) The smoothness of the strands will make the sewing that much easier. For my unusual purpose, this raffia will be excellent! I know many others use it to tie up packages & for crafts, so I will work for them also.I don’t see any small pieces as shown in others reviews & none fell out when I was gently loosening the fibers, so I’m good to go ahead with my pine needle baskets. I’ve had my pine needles for several years, 2 different kinds in fact! My dad collected some very long ones when he heard what I wanted to make so I don’t know if I’ll combine the 2 colors in one basket or make a separate basket of each kind. I’m excited to get started! so it’s just a matter of wetting them

Exactly what you want from natural raffia. Comes in nice neat organized bundles which makes them easy to work with, relatively speaking. As you pull out strands it wants to wad up but that's to be expected. At least it's just that bundle and the rest are still neat and tidy.

Decent quantity for the price. The raffia is folded and vacuum packed which creates a sudden kink or elbow in it. Lots of short pieces ( <8”) also in the package. I dyed some of it using Rit and that worked well. The hot water softened it enough to get most of the kinks out.

Perfect for a craft project i was working on..well packaged..true to color..texture was nice..thickness was good...easy to use...I ordered more I liked it so well! Great Value!

Arrived on time and was exactly what I expected

These come shrink wrapped with zero air in the packaging. They are about two feet pieces that have been folded in four sections. When I unfolded the first bundle over half just broke in the middle at the fold. Many broke into 3 or 4 pieces. I have no idea what value little short pieces of raffia would be used for. Extremely poor quality. Very disappointed.

I purchased this straw/twine for use with my Christmas manger scene. The manger is an old set and came with " straw" which, over the years, has disappeared. I bought this twine with intentions of cutting it up in small sections to make more replacement " hay" for my manger. It's just right for this. I do wish I could have purchased just one bundle instead of 4, but it's perfect for my purpose. You do get a lot for the money. Would buy again.

Ok price but pieces are quite short, require lots of joins/adding in when weaving. Depending on what you’re using it for it could be more appropriate for your project than mine. Comes vacuum sealed and looks very small but puffs up reasonably once opened. It’s budget quality.

Did what I needed it to but was a small amount for trying to cover in a laydown goose blind haha but good quality atleast 👌

It arrived in tight little bundles which were easy to pull apart to use the strands. I am making a raffia wreath and the quality of this product is perfect for my project. The strands were long and thick enough to fill in my wreath easily. Would highly recommend.

Use for bonsai and its was perfect and long enough. Will have for long time well packed.
