It comes in a little, thin, cardboard box. You will need to store it in a ziplock bag or something similar after you use it.

how long does one stone last?

I’d guess it depends on what you use it for... i have one I use to get stubborn water stains, calcium deposits off my toilet bowl- had it 6 months, still has 3/4 of stone left.

Did you use a cleaner with this?

No. Not with the stone. I did, however, clean the toilet with my regular cleaner before using the stone. I wanted to only have the "stubborn ring" in the toilet. The stone alone erased it. It's great.

Definitely does not scratch porcelain bowls; e.g., white toilet bowls. If you have a colored porcelain bowl, the instructions say to test a small area before proceeding.
