So much fun!
My daughter had wanted an archery set for a while. We went to a summer camp open house and Wizard by Bear Archery was the brand they used. How could I go wrong, right? We have gone camping and used a box with more boxes inside as the target, as well as I had photocopied the included target. It worked like a charm! We both had soooo much fun! It is the perfect beginners set! I would suggest getting extra arrows though, as we did, as running back and forth chasing 2 arrows would take away from the enjoyment! Great quality product. Would definitely recommend it!

Great for 12 year old, beginner...
After reading the reviews, I knew this would be a great starter bow for my 12 year old daughter. She doesn't like a compound bow and says it's easy to pull back and shoot. It's lightweight, but seems to be very durable. Our back yard is on the smaller side, so the shooting distance isn't as far as it could be. The draw can be pulled back enough to shoot the arrows through the straw bales and stiff cardboard wardrobe type box material from about 30'. The arrows have held up pretty well (we've had this set since Christmas). We haven't used the target yet, however, because it's pretty small and only made of card stock. Instead, we purchased two large straw bales and a much larger, more durable target, to shoot at, since both of my kids would still be considered beginners. They've attended a couple of archery classes at our regional park to learn safety, proper handling, loading and technique, but that's it. Although I trust my daughter to be safe, I also have an 8 year old son who shoots a compound bow. They are great at taking turns and staying in the "safe" zone we've established. BUT, adult supervision is a MUST! Overall, this is a great bow and it looks like it will last a long time with good care.
