LINDY TosLink SPDIF Digital Optical Cable, 0.5m

I bought a 5 meter model of this cable and it works great. It's super thin, so the cable can easily bend inside trunking. My cable was bent around 3 corners and it still works fine. This cable is super thin, but don't be fooled. All it has to do is transmit light from one end to the other end, which is does well. A thick jacket on an optical cable is only going to make the fiberoptic core crack when bent. And you don't need gold plated connectors because it only transfers light! Also, the cable fits perfect in my Panasonic HDTV and my Benchmark DAC.

I just wanted to use this to connect a couple of audio interfaces together in my studio and at just 50cm, it does the job so well, without trailing wires, which is a huge bonus in a room like that. The connection is clean and the cable is thin so it doesn't interfere with other cables in close proximity. Just remember to remove the caps before use. Great product!

The cable does a good job and works flawlessly. It looks extremely thin, so I do have some concerns over durability. Time will tell, but overall you can't complain for the money and I have had good experiences in the past with Lindy.

I bought this so I could take advantage of 5.1 surround audio that XBMC can pass through directly to my AV receiver. Connecting was easy and trouble free. Having read reports that some makes/brands fall out of their sockets as they don't fit securely enough, I was pleased to find that both ends of these are held firmly in place. Don't be fooled into buying rip-off gold plated connectors for TosLink cables by the way - the data is sent optically (i.e. waves of light), not electronically, so as long as the ends are clean and held in place firmly, you should be fine.

Did the job

Excellent Toslink cable. Bought this to connect the digitally encoded audio signal on my TV to the new Yamaha amplifer and the difference between an optical connection and a copper one is immediately obvious. The price is just about right too. Too many people are being conned into buying high priced "gold" plated connectors onToslink cables that have no effect on the signal because the audio at source is converted into a visible red light beam that is then focused down the fibre or plastic cable to the input connection on the amplifer or receiver. The beauty of this arrangement is that length of lead has no attenuating effect on the signal being transmitted down the cable, unless you are thinking miles or kilometers. Canford Audio products up on Tyneside also sell unterminated fibre and plastic cabling and end fittings to enable you to make up your own length of optical links without couplers.

We previously had a 'premium' TosLink adapter. By premium, I mean that the connectors were heavy so kept falling out of the back of our Sky satellite box. This LINDY TosLink cable has light connectors, is very well made and solved that problem. It plugs in firmly, works perfectly and is not crazily heave so it stays in place!

This is all you need. Some of the thicker cables can be a problem as they're not flexible enough and all that the thick sleeve does is protect the cable as a sharp bend will damage the optical fibre... Avoid all those silly "gold" plated ones- this is optical, not electrical! Also, metal connectors can damage your device's optical ports (which are invariably plastic) if they get a lot of plugging/unplugging/moving.

il cavo funziona alla perfezione, il rapporto qualità/prezzo credo sia imbattibile. La confezione è spartana (una semblice busta di plastica) ma il cavo arriva con le terminazioni sigillate da due tappi di plastica che ne assicurano l'integrità di queste ultime, e nella robusta scatola di amazon che fa il resto. Il segnale arriva pulito (testato su impianto home theater sony 5.1) e la ridottissima sezione del cavo, che per alcuni potrebbe essere uno svantaggio, per la mia installazione si è rivelata un plus, permettendomi di far passare agevolmente il cavo nelle canaline già esistenti per la precedente predisposizione dell'impianto, assieme agli altri cavi già stesi. Pur non potendo compiere curve nette a 90 gradi, il cavo si piega ragionevolmente adattandosi al percorso di curve morbide preesistente dell'impianto. Consigliato!

Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. L'unica perplessità era nelle dimensioni del cavo, perché molto sottile. perplessità svanita dopo aver collegato il cavo. Veramente un ottimo acquisto

Nach einem hausinternem Umzug war ich gezwungen, meine Logitech 5.1 Surround-Anlage an einem anderen Platz, weiter vom PC entfernt aufzustellen, als bisher. Damit das optische Kabel im Zimmer keine Stolperstelle bildet, verläuft es jetzt an der Wand entlang, zusammen mit den Lautsprecherkabeln, in einem Kabelkanal. Dadurch bedingt, musste jetzt eine mindestens 17 m lange optische Verbindung zwischen dem Toslink/SPDIF Ausgang der Soundkarte und dem opt. Eingang der 5.1 Anlage her. Obwohl die Spezifiktion für diese Art Verbindung (optischer) Schnittstellen, nur eine maximale Kabellänge von 10 m "gestattet", habe ich "auf Verdacht" dieses 20 m lange optische Kabel gekauft und gerade mit einwandfreiem Ergebnis getestet. Beim Einstecken ist allerdings darauf zu achten, dass die Lichtleiter-Stecker auch sauber einrasten. In diesem Fall war es mir ein Versuch wert und es funktioniert.

câble de bonne facture , la connexion est parfaite , la longueur est suffisante pour la connexion de chaque coté , par contre manque de souplesse .
