As with most skincare products, it takes months of consistent use to see results. I've only been using this retinol serum for a week, so this review will not reflect its long term efficacy. I will update my review after two weeks whether or not I get similar results as in the advertised photos. I don't have major skin issues, but do have a few fine wrinkles here and there. This retinol serum is nice. It is light and creamy in texture, not liquid like most serums. I like that it has squalane and beta-glucan to help strengthen the skin barrier, which is especially important while using retinoids. I apply it nightly, two pumps is enough to cover my entire face. It goes on smoothly on my skin and absorbs quickly. I love that it has already helped the texture of my face and makes it look brighter. Time will tell if this retinol will help improve the appearance of my fine wrinkles, but so far I'm very pleased with how it's working on my skin and will continue to use it in my skincare routine. At the time of this review, the Amazon price is $99 for the mini 0.34 oz size, more than double the $39 price elsewhere. I'm knocking off a star for the price as it is too expensive for what you get.

Listen, I usually don’t write reviews but had to for this. Been slowly switching to dermalogica and decided to give the retinol a try. I’m not new to retinol (used tret, over the counter, ect.) but almost always combat more of the side effects than actual results. I decided to reintegrate some retinol since I’ve been having stubborn milla on my cheeks and didn’t want to go in for extractions. They are gone! This was so effective in clearing them out, did have some purging which was expected but this is a holy grail for an exfoliation that works well over time. Dryness was minimal and it was easy to work up to using everyday.

I waited almost 2 months before I wrote a review to give time for the product. I use other dermalogica products (also Jan marini) for years because once I found what actually worked for my skin I stuck with it. I unfortunately didn’t see any results with this product. I have moderate sensitive skin, but didn’t get any irritation/dryness/redness/tingly. Maybe a small pimple or two once I first used, as it was new to my skin in general. I remind myself just because this product didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it’s a bad product! Everyone’s skin is different, what works for one might not work for another. Worth a try if you’ve used similar products/ingredients. Little goes a long way. No odd odor. I personally don’t love pump style products because can waste product you can’t get out. Also combating and reversing are two different things, younger me would have started more face creams to prevent aging signs in my skin. Once it’s there, in my opinion you can’t really go back using face creams. (Or I’ve yet to find one) so I know I can’t erase fine lines ect, but lightening the appearance and working towards slowing down any new ones is my goal.
