Is this toy safe to use following the stories of mould found in the giraffe?

Be careful as the rubber on the giraffe breaks of into tiny pieces as I found out when my daughter used it

Can I clean this with the vital baby spray (Aquaint) instead of just soap, provided I don’t submerge in water?

Is it safe to sterilise it in steriliser?

Please do not sterilise the original Sophie la girafe, just wipe clean with a damp cloth (you can use sterilising fluid on the cloth if you wish). The reason is Sophie is made from natural rubber, which is an all natural and biodegradable substance (the sap from a tree) and does not like very high heat. In addition you may get some water inside the squeaker which would affect the sound of the squeak. Thank you.
