2022 purchase. white. burns clean. no scent. provides light, just like a candle should. a candle a day keeps the evil way. great for americans living in germany to you make like anne frank and hide in the attic.

Several years ago, I worked in a Jewish-owned grocery store and they sold these. Then I moved across the country where the grocery store chain isn't located. I was thrilled when I found these online this year, and bought several boxes of them. I use them when reading at night. The dim light makes me sleepy but my ADHD brain demands reading before sleeping. When the air in the bedroom isn't moving, these burn for three hours, no dripping, no issues. Timed it for ever box of candles. Because the boxes smell funky, I remove the candles and place them in a different box. The candles have no odor, but the cardboard box they're stored in often smells unpleasant. Trimming the wicks isn't an issue, seeing as the wick of any candle should never be longer than 1/4 inch. Because these are thinner than standard taper candles, I melt the bottom before placing them in the candle holders I use. This keeps them upright and firmly in place. If using particularly wide candle holders, I'll put a little sand in them and sort of bury the bottom half inch in the sand. These are fantastic candles, especially for the price.

I don’t know what I was thinking. Two boxes of 72 candles? But when there’s a power outage, candles might be my only form of heat. I don’t have any other options, you’ll just have to take my word for that. It’s amazing how much heat a bunch of candles can create. Not good enough for long term, but ok for overnight Holding my hand about 12 above just one candle, and it got too hot, so what I do is light about 20 of them, set on my coffee table, close off the rest of my place so am only trying to heat the one room, and they do. Who knew? Big downside is they say the only last 3 hours, except if you keep the wick shirt, they have lasted more like 5 hours. Time for the power Co to fix things and get another place to go if I have to. I’ve not had to do all that. I’m a senior woman, live alone with no family anywhere, this is my solution.

Bright candles, no scent! They do drip. But we place our Shabbat candles over a napkin and the wax is no big deal to clean up.

The standard candles for your Shabbat. Great quality, great value and they last a while (both in terms of hours per burn and how long you’ll get out of them). Never had a dud, they’re very well packed and are our go-to for Friday nights. Would recommend

We have obtained these Ohr 3-hour candles from bricks-and-mortar stores before and the light and burn cleanly, perhaps not for the full 3 hours but close enough. They are ceremonial candles, used in the Jewish tradition to mark Shabbat, not to light a space for a length of time. After moving away from places that have a high Jewish population and the imposition of travel bans associated with COVID-19, we were forced to use the more expensive and energy inefficient means of direct importation via Amazon to obtain them.
