55045 Profi Floor Mop Large with Micro Duo for All Round Floor Cleaning, S255045

This mop is used by me for wet and dry work. The handle easily detaches and is re-connected in seconds, with no effort. The swivel action is a dream, and the eniire appliance is sturdily built in every respect.

Very good mop for our laminate floors. Cleans very well without leaving the floors soaking. Tempted to give 4 stars rather than 5 because it's so good that my Mrs won't let me replace our broken steam cleaner which did the job with half the effort so I'm occasionally stuck grafting!

This is a very large pro-type mop with a very long, one-piece aluminium handle and a large, wide mop head covered in fluffy material. It's clearly designed to handle large areas of floor so may be unsuitable for the smaller house. It was certainly overkill for me as it turned out. The other thing about it is that it's really designed to work with a special wide water bucket, which you would need to buy separately. With both, you'll have a killer mopping system. The Leifheit feels good to use, and unlike some users, I really liked the way the head swivels around so easily (the guide recommends using a 'figure of eight' motion for the best results and the swivel lets you do this easily). The foot-operated release for the mop head will be of little use without the special bucket, though I suppose it does let you get the machine-washable head off quickly. I thought it would help you squeeze the mop out with foot power but it doesn't do that, or at least not without the special bucket. Unlike the Vileda-type mop with permanently attached fronds of material, you can buy extra heads for this Leifheit, which means it ought to last a very long time, offsetting the rather high initial cost. So it's a well-made mop that is really good for going over larger areas without too many little nooks and crannies. You'd really need to have a big house or even an office to use it, and then it might be worth investing in the accompanying bucket too that I didn't try but would no doubt make the mop rather more usable. For the average person, I'd stick with the cheaper Vileda type that you can use with any old mop bucket.

it was not the cheapest mop, but it gives you a pleasant feeling making you want to clean the floor again and again

Have had to finally replace the previous Leifheit Profi after almost 12 years of daily service (bought in DE) - they cost more than most but well worth it and so practical as the mop heads can be cleaned so easily and mop itself is good design and strong with one-piece handle. Have also convinced my mum to get one. Marketplace seller very good too!

It worked fine and did the job it was meant to, but I only got a couple of months out of it before the foot press broke. There are cheaper and more durable feeling options out there.

First of all, do not order this thinking it will be fine to use with your normal mop bucket. There's no chance! I ended up using my bathtub as the bucket (before cleaning the bath) and I found this mop covered all the larger areas of my floors effortlessly and quickly. I did have to use my normal mop for the nooks and crannies which this stood no chance of reaching. Just understand that the word "large" in the title is not an understatement!
