Mercusys MA86XE AXE5400 6E WiFi Card PCIe WiFi Card

Good Wi-Fi adapter with a fast and stable connection. Installation was straightforward, as long as you’re reasonably comfortable opening up your computer. The price feels fair—not too expensive, but not suspiciously cheap either. It fits well, works as expected, and overall I can’t really fault it.

Works. Easy installation. Drivers need installing upon installing the physical unit. No latency, no lag, fast ping. Cheap too, and it can do Bluetooth from all the way downstairs of my house with my AirPods which is nice. Looks kinda ugly in pcs but who cares

It's a good card, it does what I need it to do, the signal is nice and strong, the drivers needed to be updated so the CD that came with it wasn't really helpful as I don't have a CD ROM so I needed to go online and mess around finding the latest drivers. I eventually found them though it's been rock solid since I bought it, I would recommend a different Bluetooth though as it does have issues "finding" the devices set up, it doesn't auto-connect at all, I found that everytime my headphones died on me I charged them up then needed to pair it all over again, I'm not sure if this is normal but I've never experienced that before on Bluetooth adapters.

After using an ethernet connection for so long I was worried switching back to wifi would give a reduction in reliability. I've been using this pretty solidly for a month now and had zero drops in connectivity. No issues with latency or speed. Windows does not have a driver for this (or atleast it didn't for me) for it to work out of the box so you will need to pre-download and install the drivers before installing it into your system.

I could be a little harsh in scoring this product 3 points, but I have to be honest and clear in my experience. I actually thought that upgrading to this card (MA86XE) would have made my overall wifi speeds much faster than the Mercusys wifi card (MA30E) it replaced. There is probably about 18ft of distance between my computer and the Internet hub, but does have a tv and a wall sitting in between. However, with the new card, I am still getting speeds comparible to the the old one. I am going to see what options there is to see if I can increase that somewhat, but it isn't looking great so far. And I would hate to think how bad it would be if there were a greater distance between the hub and a computer. My biggest issue with this card though is drivers. I would recommend that you go to the website and download the drivers for this card because because even though it says Windows 11 compatible out of the box, after uninstalling the old card, when the new one was plugged in, there was an exclamation mark next to the hardware icon in device manager. The MA86XE does its job in getting you connected to the internet. But it fails to be a simple, high speed card that works straight out of the box.

Absolutely amazing WiFi card. You have all what is needed in the box for installation, including screws and Bluetooth USB motherboard interface connection cable and low profile bracket if needed. It is very easy to install, as long as you know how. Always ask for help if you are not sure or watch a tutorial video to help in guiding you. I can honestly say that this is a major upgrade on my previous WiFi card, both for the WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as consistency and stability. It ticks all of the boxes. It is plug and play with up to date versions of Windows 10 and 11, but I do suggest using the driver disc it comes with, as they are the more suitable drivers for performance, whereas Microsoft use basic drivers in order for it to just work.

Had problems installing it on a new windows 11 Desktop. The drivers were downloaded from the Italian web site easily and installed but windows refused to see the adapter. Contacted the company's customer support using the Amazon link and they were prompt and extremely helpful. The problem was caused by Windows USB power settings, which need to be deactivated through the USB setting in the Control panel. Once deactivated Windows was able to find and use the adapter. Working well since.

I struggled to get a signal in my study which was furthest from the router. I was using a USB dongle and getting at most 2-3Mb/sec, dropouts, crashes from sites, buffering and it was frustrating. I needed a stable connection and having seen a spare PCIe slot invested in this. 5 minutes later and OMG! Testes whilst writing this and download 125/Upload 60 and I am a long way from the router. Not a single crash or loss of signal since I installed it and I am not a computer guy and I did it! Best purchase in years and that is no exaggeration.. I did not connect Bluetooth as my graphics card covered the USB headers but I have no need for it anyway. Installation was a breeze and how is it this cheap!

With my previous ac1200 card, I was getting 200Mbps from my 750Mbps NBN connection at 12m and through two stud walls. With this ax3000 card and no other alterations, I get 680Mbps. (I get 780Mbps on my phone at the router). On offer at $30, this was incredible value. Definitely recomend this. (Notes and thoughts: I wanted a cheap boost to match the NBN upgrade for a year or two until wifi 7 or 5G gets to be more mainstream when I will upgrade. For $30, this was ideal. It was Plug & Play, worked straight away, though I did instal intel drivers instead of the Microsoft driver that Windows autio-installed. For those with Gb connections after the recent NBN upgrade, this card should easily cope. Don't buy if you want tri-band, this is wifi 6E but dual band only. For tri-band and access to the 6Mhz band, get a wifi 6E or wifi 7 card and specifically check the spec's for tri-band).

It works, it's fast, just a bit annoying to find the drivers for. Remember to install the usb port to get Bluetooth, but if you don't need it, the wifi will work without.
