Does it make sound on start or switching off?

Yes. There's a beeping "tune" - ascending when it switches on. Descending when it switches off

Can I take it to the beach vacation? How about the waterproof performance?

IPX7 waterproof (official proof is 1 meter deep underwater for 30 mins), I have tried and it is no problem but do not recommend to soak in water for a long time. So of course, take it to the seaside for vacation, enjoy the time!

What is the Frequency range of the speaker?

I have no idea but the sound quality is better than my Sony midi system at 50w per channel. However the midi is 15 yrs old and technology has moved on.

This speaker won't connect to either of my android phones, but it does connect to my laptop.
