I had only crocheted scarves and blankets coming into this. The formatting of the video instructions (one short video per stitch/step, easy to replay and toggle back and forth between them) legitimately taught me how to read patterns in one go. Learning the actual stitches took a bit longer, and I had to redo it a couple times, but once I was done with one kit I became able to make pretty much anything I wanted. The fact that the yarn is dense and doesn't split helps so much when you just need to figure out what you're doing. Ironically, the only downside is that now I don't want to do these ones anymore because scraping through an anthology of videos to get the pattern is annoying now that I can read patterns! I would love to know if there's some way to get the pattern without using the video, but I guess the entire point of this brand is to learn. I've been recommending it to people who want to learn to crochet. I can't believe how fast I learned patterns, whereas before, I assumed they would be too hard to learn.

I am truly, madly, in love with The Woobles! As a true beginner (and a lefty 😬), I was nervous to purchase this after a few frustrating experiences with off-brand kits that left me tangled and confused. I was wrong! Woobles made it so easy. Their instructions are crystal clear, and they even include a left-handed version with videos!!!!!— total game-changer. I was actually able to follow along and finish my first project without tears or YouTube rabbit holes (except when I decided I wanted to master the magic loop but that’s a whole different story). The yarn is soft, high quality, and pre-started so you can jump right in. If you’re new to crochet, skip the cheap alternatives — they don’t come close. This kit is worth every penny for the frustration it saves. I spent several hours on a different kit and never accomplished anything, where this one had me crocheting like a pro (pro-newbie) in no time. First as someone who just decided to jump into this to make a surprise gift for my spouse who's a crafting connoisseur when it comes to string crafts, I on the other hand couldn't tell you the difference from knitting to crochet and I'm kinda hard headed and heavy handed when it comes down to theses sort of things. They have prerecorded videos (though in my example it was for a different model all together) that do help, though on more than one occasion I found myself lost, specially in portions where they were explaining the process and I thought I was supposed to be following along but they then walk you through the steps in the following video. Expected completion was supposed to be 8 hours, though I kept having to restart from square one and retrace my steps luckily the way they tied the starting "magic loop" makes it so you can't accidently untie the necessary starting step and I was getting a bit better with each pass. Doing this in my free time ended up taking me closer to 8 weeks, though as I mentioned you hand me string and I'll somehow give you back and handful of knots (...yeah I know -now- that crochet is -just- a handful of organized knots but that's not the point. I'm sure your milage will vary). At this point it became a labor of love and stubbornness, I got it to about 70% done to the point where I just needed the arms, legs, and spikes but I kept having trouble starting my own magic loop and getting my tension right (I was pulling way too hard and making it more difficult on my self). They do give you the option to do an easier starting loop that has a hole in the middle, but I was determined to stubborn through it... After much more stubbornness I eventually I asked for help from my spouse and showed her the armless and legless Fred, she just smiled and said we could finish it together. She grabbed her own yarn and caught up to where I was in no kidding 1 hour and she walked me through the sticking points and we completed both Freds in 2 hours. We even had time to embellish a little bit, mine has a dragon mustache and her's has a dashing blep. She says she used "Red Heart" yarn and the same similar sized hook, again might as well be another language to me but we had fun working on it together and she loves my attempt at the little monstrosity lovingly called Fred. I'm just really glad I didn't start with an intermediate kit like I had originally planned.

I’ve been wanting to learn to crochet for a few years but didn’t really have anyone to teach me. I learned to knit and hated it and I’ve done plenty of latch hook kits. I found these kits after some google searching. I have to say, I think these videos are pretty great. They were broken down well and I liked the explanation of how to read the patterns. I did have to restart the project because I knew I made a mistake but didn’t feel like trying to find it (but I wasn’t far along). I did struggle with the kit, but I figured I would; having a basis of yarn crafts I think did help with the frustration level. I like the yarn for this, even though it’s more like a cord, but it made it easy to use. The only thing I wish is that these kits came with either a paper or blooket of the pattern so that I could make another one at a different time. I know I can go back and watch the videos again and write it down but that’s not easy. I gave this product 5 stars but after finishing it, I’m not sure it’s worth the price for what you get. (My daughter did think the end product was pretty cute, though.)

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I know this is kinda pricy but WORTH IT! I start with other crochet project for 'beginner'. It does have list of videos that teach you how to do each type of the stitch, but some videos are missing, and the paper instructions just so hard to follow as a pure beginner. I have no other choice but searching for other tutorial videos. And that's how I find this brand. I successfully start the magic ring with this brand's tutorial and then stuck on the yarn. The other project’s yarn keeps loosing to thinner thread. So I came back and purchase this one to give myself an ‘ACTUAL BEGINNER TUTORIAL'. And this brand didn't disappoint me. The step by step video is the life saver for beginner and I believe that is where mainly your money spend at, it teaches EVERYTHING you need. Now I can go back to my previous project without any problems.

I’ve been thinking about trying crochet forever & finally gave in to relentless social media influencing. I’m so glad I did! This kit does a great job for a beginner, from the yarn quality to the easy to follow instructions. I only got lost a few times & the piece still turned out super cute! I appreciate the instructions being clear about things like when it’s ok if something isn’t matching up exactly & anticipating common issues like forgetting to put in a stitch marker. That made the whole thing fun & I never felt like giving up. Excited to try a new project now!
