What mechanism prevents the capsule from dissolving in stomach acid before delivering contents to the intestines?

It's not the capsule which is important,as far as I know it's the fact that the butyric acid is linked to glycerol as a triglyceride of sorts,3 molecules of butyric acid attached to one of glycerol,so it takes longer to absorb it I guess.

Does this product need to be refrigerated after opening?

It says to store in a cool dry place. I'm assuming if it needed refrigeration then it would have specifically indicated so.
