I’m very pleased with this product. It is well designed and well constructed of lightweight and strong materials, mostly carbon fiber. One of the legs is specially designed to easily convert to a monopod. Perhaps the thing I like most about this is that the head comes with an Arca Swiss plate which makes mounting a lens or camera very fast and easy. It also has a tripod mounting plate with a built in bolt that has a little handle for tightening/attaching to your camera so you don’t need to worry about a hex tool. The bag is sturdy and has a nice carrying strap making the tripod easy to carry around with you when you’re out on a shoot. Excellent value on an excellent product!

This is not a bad tripod. For the $$ it is generally good. It is not especially light weight, it is not especially strong, it is not especially great quality. BUT! It is very good quality, it is prety sturdy if you use it properly, it is light(ish) and compact enough and the legs seem relatively sturdy. The ball head is good (a little above average quality for the Neewer range of tripods), it is smooth, and locks tight with multiple locking screws. Note: it does have a bit of "wandering" when all locks are set. I have a two pound Nikon P950 and used a 2.5 lbs Panasonic Eva-1 video camera and it wonders a bit when locked. So I would only use this tripod in a pinch with my video camera (not really a "video" tripod). I like the legs, they have been sturdy. I plan to use a different head that will remove the wandering issue and that should be a good combo. At full extension (which is pretty tall) it wobbles a lot, so I would not use it at the full hight. But that is to be expected as light weight means thin legs, and the like. The monopod system (remove a leg and there you have it, a monopod) is good and handy to have on had at all times. I think it is a better monopod than average. The locking system for the legs is ok. It is a typical twist lock type. They have clicks as you lock it, but not sure if that is intentional or not. Overall at the right price, this is a "not bad" carbon fiber legged tripod. For pro use, I would go elsewhere and pay the premium of pro. For prosummer use, I would recommend this tripod. For average use, this is a good, relatively light, good looking and sturdy tripod for the $$.

I finally pulled the trigger on a tripod and was going to buy the lower model of this but with help from family was able to upgrade my own christmas gift to my self and get the carbon fiber model. I chose Neewer because Ive bought multiple photography items from them and very pleased with everything I have acquired thus far. First things first. This was not Neewer. This is a Triopo branded tripod. The box, the tripod, the bag for the ball head, the manual all shows Triopo. Beyond the name though, it seems like a high quality product. (I HAVE NO FIELD TESTED ANYTHING.) The tripod is super light weight compared to ones that are similar in size. Doesnt feel cheap or junk at all! Very happy about that. All the features that are listed in the description are here, quick release legs, ball head mount, level, able to shoot normal or upside down for macro and so one. One thing I do like the pointed metal feet on the bottom of the legs, my old tripod just had rubber feet and was always an issue. The springloaded weight hook is very nice as well. As for the ball head mount. Im glad it did come with a level but once camera is in place you wont be able to see it. The adapter plate is metal and sturdy, not cheap plastic. All the knobs are bigger than I had expected and so is the actual ball head. I reviewed many tripods before finally buying this one and a few had really small ballheads. being able to use it as a monopod may be a nice feature but I dont see my self doing that much, maybe using the mount on the monopod I already have though. The bag it comes in is very high quality materal, not a cheap flimsy cloth/fabric bag that would rip or tear at the first sign of any use. Very pleased with that but at same time not sure how much Ill use it since my camera bag has a straps for the tripod already. Over all Im very pleased with this product besides purchasing a "Neewer" Branded item and the name is no where in the packaging but I guess that could be a good or bad thing. If anything changes once I put the tripod to use, I will update my review accordingly. My only complaint is I DIDNT received a discount for my honest review, maybe on my next Neewer purchase!

The tripod seems to be decent. Certainly better than most other "bargains" I have bought over the years. I think using the monopod is a bit of a hassle, but the tripod is a decent, lightweight tripod that will fit nicely in my suitcase. It will be used on my next trip, while my more expensive, lightweight tripod (a name brand) will be left behind. Update: My more expensive and somewhat heavier tripod will be in my bag, not this one. Maybe. After a bit of use, there are some pros and cons to discuss. First, a very positive note about the feet. These use a design used by others: the "rubber" foot screws down, exposing a sharp "spike" for better traction on ice or other similar surfaces. I prefer this design. Also, this makes a pretty small item to put in my baggage for travel. On a negative note, the mount for the head does not have any set screws (Manfrotto refers to these as "grub" screws) to lock the head in place after you have threaded it tightly onto the center shaft. They have some sort of an alternative approach to mounting the head to the shaft, and I do not like it. I think it is prone to having the head come loose; although I admit you should check this out regularly on ALL tripods to insure that you do not have a problem. I do not have to worry about the feet penetrating something in my luggage. The head that comes with this tripod has a problem that I have had with another Newer item I have purchased (and returned.) The panning lock does not really lock up panning completely. Granted, it is fairly well fixed, but I can still turn it without too much effort. A heavy camera with a battery grip and a substantial lens are going to exert a lot more torque on this than my grabbing the clamp and twisting. I also thought the panning action was overly stiff (with the feel of thick grease.) I put the head in a bowl with about 1/4" of rubbing alcohol and seemed to get rid of some of the stiffness. I live in Alaska, and I suspect the stiff panning action would just about be rigid when I am out at minus 10 or 20F, which I sometime do. If I keep this tripod, the head still will have to go. Lastly, this is a very light tripod. It will not add much weight to a bag when you're traveling, and it really does fit nicely into your luggage, with plenty of room to spare. But there is a fine line between "lightweight" and "flimsy;" and this is pretty close to that line. I may or may not keep this; I have not decided. I paid $114 for the tripod, with free shipping (Amazon Prime.) For this price, it is still a pretty amazing deal, but only if it works. I think my slightly heavier, slightly longer tripod is still a better bet for a travel tripod. But this carbon fiber tripod includes a ball head. It is an amazing deal, which is why I bought it. I have several ball heads and a couple of gimbal mounts that cost far more than this complete package. I bought this due to the low price, low weight, and small size when collapsed. It was worth a try. I have not yet used it with a "rock sack" attached, or a heavy weight attached to the hook on the center shaft. So maybe I will like it better when I use these features. In summary, a carbon fiber tripod WITH a ball head for $114 is still phenomenal. I have NOT yet traveled with this tripod, so I have not used it much. So far, it has done what I wanted it to do. And it is pretty unrealistic to expect my $114 tripod to function like my $350 tripod with my either my $350 head or my $500 gimbal mount attached. And I can always put one of my other heads on this for travel use. Until I have more experience reviewing shots made from this tripod I will not have a definitive answer. And maybe this IS the answer. For a quick trip that may or may not involve tripod use, this still is an option. If I were backpacking, I might have a different conclusion. I suspect this tripod would be in/on my backpack. I do not think I will have the complete answer until i have put a lot more "mileage" on this tripod. I need to determine how well it holds up over time, and how stable it is with a camera, battery grip, and different long lenses attached. As you should be able to tell, I am still very ambivalent about this tripod.

Great value tripod. I picked this up as I was heading for a trip out west and needed something easier to travel with. The ball head works well and easily comes off to pack away for the travel. It is lightweight and packs into a travel bag that I easily attached to my backpack. One design feature I really like is that one leg is removable to function as a monopod. One of the best photography purchases I've made. Overall: great value, sturdy, and versatile.

First Impression: Heading to Alaska in August and needed a compact tripod that was sturdy, lightweight, and tall enough to handle my use. The Neewer was packaged well and contained in a nice black carrying case of outstanding quality yet adds very little weight to the package. Within the black bag the Tripod was shipped wrapped in bubble wrap, again Neewer making sure the tripod is received ready to be used. Having owned many tripods over the years this tripod is sturdy and well built. I will not hesitate placing my expensive Sony cameras and large Sony Zoom lenses on the Tripod. I would even mount my Hasselblad gear on this tripod. The tripod legs are somewhat small in diameter but this is a travel tripod, but do not be fooled as this tripod is sturdy when the legs are fully extended. The legs can be set at 90 degrees to the vertical center shaft, 45 degrees, and 30 degrees. A slight twist of the leg knobs allows the user to adjust the length of each leg. From unfolding the leg to extending the legs it's smooth action for a secured setup. Being a convertible tripod the user gets the best of having a monopod and a tripod all in one. On the bottom of the center shaft the user can unscrew the spring loaded hook cap and remove the center shaft. Next unscrew the leg that has the foam grip and attach it to the center shaft for a nice monopod. The hook can be used to add weight to hold the tripod down, in my case on a cruise ship this will be used. The ball head is smooth and precise with a bubble level. The quick change camera plate is a nice added touch. In closing this is the best $120.00 I've ever spent on camera gear. This will be a welcome addition to my backpack due to its compact length of 22.4" and weighing 4LB. With its nearly 70" height it will be tested in the wilds of Alaska.

Very happy with this product. It's relatively lightweight, can conveniently be used also as a monopod, and is sturdy enough to hold my full frame cameras with longer lenses. I've been happy with most of the neewer branded products I have bought, from filters to batteries to this tripod.

Pros: Lots of features, affordable Cons: Lightweight, legs do not spread far enough, not "pro-quality" I have been using Manfrotto aluminum tripods for years and jumped at the chance to buy an affordable carbon fiber tripod for hiking. The price is good and it has lots of features, but for a serious photographer, it just lacks enough to give you pause. No question it gives value for the price: carbon fiber, comes with ball head and case, one leg comes off to become a monopod, legs flip up to pack more compactly, leg angles can be adjusted, center post reverses. One of the first things I noticed was that the spider was basically a thin, flat piece of metal, not the hunk of cast metal in Manfrotto and other established brands. Second, the angle of the legs is more acute, which means they ended up 8" or so closer together than my smaller Manfrotto, and are less stable. Third, the legs start thin, the 4-sections get pretty skinny by the time they get to the bottom, and are not as rigid as I am used to. I suspect the weight rating is overstated. Might be for statically holding that weight up, but not for resisting flexing or vibration. While the combined rubber/spike feet sound like a good idea, when you have the rubber screwed out to cover the spike, you are down to a leg that is one screw wide. This might work for you if you are using entry-level equipment, but I use a Nikon D300S/D500 with battery grip and pro-glass (17-55mm/2.8, 70-200mm/2.8, 12-24mm/4, and sometimes a Sigma 120-300mm/2.8 +/- TC). The ball head and tripod just do not seem robust enough for my purposes. It is, however, a step up from many other cheap tripods out there. The tripod came well packed as other reviewers noted. I did see two areas where the CF was scraped right out of the box. I returned it and went to my local camera store so I could actually try out tripods. Ended up buying a Sirui for twice the price (without a head) but definitely more robust and fits my needs better.

Sturdy Tripod which meets my requirements

Statyw spełnia wszystko moje potrzeby. Poprzednio miałem trochę tańszy statyw firmy SILK, także z kulkową głowicą i myślałem, że to to po prostu kiepski rodzaj mocowanie. Tymczasem miałem po prostu słaby statyw. Tej jest idealnym kompromisem między wagą a stabilnością. Korzystam z niego od kilku tygodni i nie miałem jeszcze pozycji, której nie mógłbym stabilnie ustawić. Przy tej cenie polecam bez ograniczeń.

Ho acquistato il più alto dei modelli in vendita. Il prodotto si presenta alla stessa stregua di uno fascia alta dei marchi più blasonati. Di sicuro il prezzo è eccellente per la qualità che mostra. Stabile con la mia D700 e con tutte le ottiche che ho (incluso lo zoom 150-600 del peso di 3kg) Comodissima la possibilità di trasformalo in monopiede. Sull'etichetta è riportata la fibra al 100%, ma in realtà i tubolari sono in alluminio rivestito con una plastica che sembra fibra di carbonio. Potrebbe anche essere fibra, ma la sua struttura rimane in alluminio. Peso comunque leggero. Simpatica e utile la sacca da tracolla.

Ich brauchte einen Ersatz für ein wirklich super-altes Vanguard-Stativ, das mit meinen gestiegenen Hobby-Ansprüchen auch auf Reisen klar kommt. Auf der Suche nach einem Reise-Stativ stieß ich zunächst auf die bekannten Hersteller, die mich mit ihren Preisen überhaupt nicht begeistern konnten. Dann fand ich dieses N55CR und war wegen des Preises eher skeptisch und bereit, es bei Nichtgefallen postwendend zurückzuschicken. Nach schneller Lieferung eben erhalten, begutachtet und ausprobiert. Was will ich denn noch mehr? Es übersteigt meine Erwartungen bei weitem! Schnell aufgebaut, leicht (nicht vergessen - ein Kugelkopf-Gelenk ist aus Metall), kleines Packmaß und trotzdem, variabel von fast Boden bis voll ausgezogen über Kopf groß, Tripod und Monopod zugleich (in 3 Handgriffen erledigt), sanfter Kugelkopf, etc. Apropos, Qualität des Kugelkopf: Zur Demonstration und weil hier der ein oder andere Kommentar zur Festigkeit des Kopfes geschrieben wurde, habe ich das ausprobiert. Der Kugelkopf hält meine Lumix S1 mit einem Sigma 150-600 Sports (2,1 Kg alleine), wie in meinem Foto gezeigt, direkt an die Kamera und nicht richtigerweise am Objektiv montiert, absolut fest und bleibt in Position. Fazit: Das Stativ ist aus meiner Sicht der Knaller und ich kann mir nicht erklären, was Produkte der "Premium"-Hersteller besser machen, um die mind. 200 € Preisdifferenz (sehr tief gegriffen) zu erklären.
