Hi The number of chunks varies per bag as there is not a set amount. The weight is always 1.5kg. The length of time each chunk will last will depend on the size of the chunk and the heat of the barbecue.

I have a weber gas grill, can i pop 1 of these chunks on the flavouriser bars to add smoke? i have smoker boxes which i use wood chips in.

Chips are best for a gas grill, the chunks are too large and are likely to catch fire. They are best used sparingly on a charcoal barbecue.

Would you soak the wood before placing it in a charcoal smoker?

No. Make a bed of charcoal , place a few chunks and cover with lit charcoal and your set for a smoke. These are chunks not chips. Amazon got these mixed up
