Can i use this as and overdrive button?

No this is a momentary switch it will only activate if held in the up or down position. You could use any rocker switch that ether stays in the open or closed position.

Does this stay lit up?? Or does it turn off??

I connected mine the way it was illustrated in the instructions, it definitely changes the polarity going through the switch, but it only lights up when pushing. Like I said going by instructions.
