I and Thou

Love Martin Buber! Sent copies to people with highlighted portions. Think his analysis of relationships is soooo insightful and unique.

I have read this book many times over the year. The first time I read it was when I was about 20 and I had found it in a resell store. It caught my eye, because I had been thinking about relational issues, and I took it home and wept as I read it. Someone thought like me and was able to articulate the thoughts in ways that helped me then talk with other people about these things. So thankful!

The reader of this book sometimes talks in a mumbly voice, and since there is no kindle version whisper synced to it, you can't look up the original. This makes the book frustrating to listen to.

A fabulous book. Any one who is into a spiritual quest, should read this one! But this edition has ugly typing font and bad outlay which makes it difficult to read Get the hard cover copy with yellow cover, which has fantastic outlay, and is reader's friendly. This is not a book to read at ones, even-though it is small. You need to digest every paragraph, let it seep it into you. It may change your relation with the world.

I and Thou was one of the most important books on human relationships in the 20th century. I use it in a course on marriage.

Buber's message is timeless and very much needed in today's world that places so much emphasis on ego and greed. Respect for the other is the attitude that is too seldom found in our success driven and self centered lives.

Buber is a mind-blowing philosopher. Fasten your seatbelt.

The content of this book is classic (be aware that it's old, and the translation reflects that – it's not an easy read), but the printing is awful. The text is like newsprint, and some of the pages are printed crooked or are trimmed off the side of the page. It's very cheaply made.
