Yiruma: The Best - Reminiscent 10th Anniversary

The sound of magnificent talent! I would say these are easy for advanced and good to learn for medium skilled pianists! Inspiring melodies with great depth! They are easy to play but you really get the most out of it when you improvise therefore the difficulty level is fairly high! But the joy and fulfilment is very satisfying when you are in the swing.

Yiruma was recommended to me by a friend and after a couple of Youtube videos I knew I had to play it myself. I enjoy playing Einaudi, Dustin O'Halloran and Yiruma is similar. I'd say you need to be Grade 5+ to play some of them but it's well worth the practice.

Having grown up playing the piano I had a long "hiatus" of not playing. I've been trying to get back into playing but don't really have the desire to sit and play Bach or Chopin all night long, so have been looking for other artists whose melodies flow. I came across Yiruma and decided on ordering it. Whilst I've not played through the whole book I've certainly enjoyed the pieces I've played, and based on the other reviews will enjoy the rest of the book. At a guess I'd say this is Grade 6+ but then it's been a very long time since I took my Grades in the Piano.

A lot of the sheet music does not match the audio album of the same name. It seems that all of the sheet music has been copied and pasted from past books even though for the audio album, new but only slightly different versions of songs were made.

I first got into actually enjoying playing piano (after trudging through the grades for the sake of it) through Einaudi, and through looking into various other contemporary pianists I was lead to Yiruma and I'm so glad I found him. Yiruma's music is much more melodious than Einaudi (yet Einaudi's minimalism and chord progression is also fantastic) and has a lovely soul behind the music. It is certainly more complex than Einaudi, with some pieces requiring thorough practise to do them justice. I would say players of standard Grade 5 and above can play a few pieces and as you become more accomplished you'll be able to enjoy playing the more complex pieces to boot.

Perfect for my daughter who has just passed her Grade 6 piano. Beware that there is a similar and very much simpler book with the same cover which is well below her level which I ordered in error, but Amazon replaced and refunded in their usual efficient way.

After hearing River Flows in You, I wanted to have a go at playing it and this book is definitely one of my favourites. Excellent buy and was delivered quickly too.

Étant pianiste et grand fan de Yiruma, j'ai voulu me faire plaisir en m'offrant ceci et je ne suis pas déçu. Donc concernant ce livre, rien à redire. Je comparerai les partitions avec les morceaux (de l'album "The Best Reminiscent 10th ANNIVERSARY" et non les précédents, car j'ai remarqué que certaines versions d'avant sont différentes) pour voir si ça correspond bien et si telle n'était pas le cas je reviendrais l'indiquer ici. J'aurais bien mit 4 étoiles seulement car il est arrivé le 3 décembre au lieu du 27 novembre, mais ce serait mettre 4 étoiles au grand Yiruma. De plus il est vendu à 21 euros ici sur Amazon alors qu'au dos le prix indiqué est $17.99, je vous laisse faire la conversion...

In meiner grenzenlosen Selbstüberschätzung als Klavierschüler (3 Jahre) habe ich mir das Buch bestellt und musste beim ersten Durchblättern bereits feststellen, dass die meisten der Stücke für mich noch viel zu schwer sind. Aber das ist ja mein Fehler.... Das Buch an sich ist genau wie ich es erwartet hatte. Lieferung erfolgte überraschend schnell. Mittlerweile habe ich schon bemerkt, dass es wenn man viel Zeit investiert durchaus machbar ist, die Stücke auch als Anfänger zu spielen. Ich werde das Buch aber trotzdem erstmal noch zur Seite legen.. so ein zwei Jahre :-)
